How do laws that make it harder for dangerous people to acquire guns, infringe a responsible gun owner?
Responsible gun owners should have nothing to fear from new laws, regulations, bans, or background checks because those things aren’t an infringement on their rights.
ProCon.org states, a majority of adults, including gun owners, support common sense gun control such as background checks, bans on assault weapons, and bans on high-capacity magazines. According to a February 20, 2018 Quinnipiac Poll, 97% of American voters and 97% of gun owners support universal background checks. Is the Second Amendment protecting our country or killing it? The people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. People may have this right, however advocates of gun control believe guns are too risky. Although our history of guns have been used for the bad of people, I also understand guns have been used for the good of people. Throughout my essay I talk about why I think our country needs stricter gun control. More gun control laws would reduce gun deaths, high-capacity magazines should be banned because they too often turn murder into mass murder, guns are rarely used in self-defense and ect. Even though there are a lot of pros for gun control, there are also a lot of pros for no gun control, examples would be that The Second Amendment of the US Constitution protects individual gun ownership, gun control laws will not prevent criminals from obtaining guns or breaking laws, and lastly more gun control is unnecessary because relatively few people are killed with guns.
