3. The person in my life today that have true grit is my husband. He is a man that would do what he believed have to be done, don't matter how hard it is he will do his best to get it done. One reason why I believe he has grit is because when he went to school and say that he going to get to go get what he dream he is good at doing and get pay for it. He is going to go to get his GED and then he going to go straight to college. I see him do it made me see he have grit in himself he wanted something done and he did it. To him, he knows it going to be hard with his kids around but he has to support the family money by going to school and finishing school. He knows how to fix cars but he has to have more by going to school and getting a degree to symbol he can work in that field. …show more content…
He also told me when he did with this he going to go work for a dealer and make sure they pay him what he asks for. I see that he is so determinate in the self and what he know he get it done. When my husband only had one week left he went to make sure right when he was done he got a job waiting for him. He went to the dealer and apply for the job. He knows that he have to put in work to get in. He also so determined that he will get this job if he keeps showing them that he is a man for they would want to work for them. He then makes sure he call them every day. He also went every day after school and talk the boss. When the boss see that he really want the job, by coming every day and asking if there an opening. He told my husband that he can come to work right after he done with school. My husband is a man that will keep trying to get what he want and show them how much he wants the job. He is the type that if he wants something he has to have it. He believed in himself that if show them how bad and how much he would go through to get the thing he needs to provide for his family and also

With no bias, he is the hardest working person I have ever met. Driving early morning trains, my dad goes to work at 4 a.m. When he is dismissed from his “real job” around one O’clock, he then heads to one of the various homes he is working on, and works until he is required to get my siblings and I off the bus. If no one ever stopped him, I not sure he would. Not only does my father dedicate tremendous time and attention to what he does, he ensures it is perfected. For a brief period in his over 20 years working at NJ Transit, my dad was a manager.
Merriam Webster says grit is defined as unyielding courage in the face of hardship or danger. Angela Lee Duckworth’s opinion about grit being the key to success is true and correct. Her points about the kids that didn’t have the highest IQ but were the grittiest and were the most successful in the class showed that grit has to do with success. Another point that she makes is that talent doesn’t make you gritty. Just because someone has more talent than another person doesn’t mean that he or she is better. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard. The final point that Angela makes is that growth mindset is a good way for building grit. Angela said that growth mindset is the belief that the ability to learn is not fixed, but can be changed with your effort.
At some point in your life you experience grit in one form or another, whether it’s for yourself or watching someone else. I have seen through my personal eyes the struggles and hardships of watching someone you’re so close to deal with cancer, and use grit and motivation to overcome the situation. About three years ago my family was given the dreadful news that my aunt Shawn had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Even though it was horrific news there was one golden ray of light on the event, that she was only at stage one or two so she had a greater hope of getting rid of the tumor. My grandma spent even more time with her giving us updates on the treatments, doctor appointments, and how my cousins and uncle were coping with the situation.

Seeing him start from not knowing anything about bikes to being a master mechanic has inspired me to take on teaching opportunities. Having that skill to educated youth and inspired them to do something good, is an amazing skill everyone should try to obtain. I'm glad that now he uses his bike to get to work and to

He did however discuss it with my mom. The situation also took a toll on his already present depression. My dad was so deeply worried that he would be fired, and that no one would want to hire a man at his age. It upset me so much to watch my father go through that. It resulted in a still present resentment toward bosses and those in charge.
He chose his occupation because his father has owned a shop since he was born and grew up with and he fell in love with it. He says he likes his job, but sometimes he wishes he could make money easier, he recommends it to anyone who likes getting their hands dirty and loves cars, such as myself. A description of his job is that he services and repairs cars, performing a diagnosis on a car, doing test drives, completing repair orders, and talking to customers. The field has changed a little, such as, more electronic parts on cars and different places of parts. Something I wish someone told me before I started this career is that tools cost so much money and my body would hurt a decent amount. Chance for advancement in this field is all based on if you have your ASE certifications and how good you are at doing a diagnosis and repairing cars quickly and with perfect
