Grip- the grip is the most important part of the tennis game. This allows you to hold the racket properly, but it also gives more control over the ball but also prevents injuries from occurring. There are different types of grips you can use when holding the racket. The main type of grip when hitting a tennis ball is the western grip, the western grip is were all you hand is near to the bottom of the racket but slightly twisted, to give the angle of a top spin when hitting the ball.

Eastern grip- the eastern grip is the second kind of tennis grip that people use. They use the eastern grip

The forehand allows you to move the player around the court the best way.
• You must stand side on to the ball.
• With you left leg over the right just in front change if you are left handed.
• You must make sure to keep the racket down to the right off you.
• Make sure to always swing from low to high.
• Make sure to always finish above your shoulder.
• Make sure after you have made contact with the ball you are moving forward to make the most power.

The main tactics for the forehand is to get your opponent moving around the court to create space, for you to place the ball, so the opponent can’t reach it. You are able to push the player back in the court or even to a far side of the court to create the space.

Back-hand- the backhand is the second main skill in tennis as it’s the opposite shot you hit when the ball gets hit onto the opposite side of you. The backhand is used the same as the forehand (move the player around).
• When performing a backhand you must stand side on to the ball
• Right leg must go in front of the left leg but not too
