Remember those rainy days when the sky had a grayish tint? Remember when the rain would fall and the sound of the pitter-patter on the roof would wake you up in the morning? Remember when the sun would come up and a rainbow would shine through the clouds?
I don't.
After thousands of years of overloading the atmosphere with toxic waste, most lands are unsafe for humans. The green zone is the only part on earth that can still sustain human civilization. Only the rich are able to afford to live in the green zone.
It doesn't rain often. And when it does it's often acidic. I had lost my mother and father to the acidic rain. They were going to the shop when the first drops of acid rain hit their faces and burned their skin. They had struggled

In fact we all do."
A group of people stepped out of the shadows. None of them looked crazy.
"We all share the same principles--" she said.
"Yeah, it was those principles that got us branded as terrorists by the authorities." one man shouted.
"Just ignore him... How about I show you around?" she said.
After helping me up, she opened the door and led me out.
The light was coming through the trees. The coolness and the moss growing on the trunks of the trees was spectacular.
Droplets of water was dripping from the large leaves of the green luscious plants. Water trickled through the little creek. Bird squawked as they flew through the air. And best yet, there was absolutely no pollution.
I expected a run down old facility. What I found instead was an incredible forest city.
"How were you able to do this? Are we still in the red zone?"
"Yes, we partially mastered the science of genetics to modify the plants and animals to be able to resist the pollution." she gently explained.
"Then, why did I faint when I was only meters into the red zone?" I asked confused.
"We have left a circle of pollution around us, so that we don't raise suspicion."
"We need to get this to the people in the lower cities of the yellow

Located in the popular Yosemite National Park, Yosemite Falls is the tallest waterfall in California. Every year, mother nature’s breathtaking beauty attracts millions of people from around the world. People hike for three long and fatiguing hours in anticipation of witnessing forceful water rushing down the steep mountain from 2,425 feet above. Last summer, my family and I backpacked through the Yosemite Falls Trail and I came to learn what a truly exhausting experience it is.
The heat and humidity pressed onto my skin and . My throat was harsh and dry, desperate for water. I forced myself to admire the surroundings in an attempt to distract myself from my blistered feet and my gaping thirst for water. Feeling light headed, my vision began to blur, trees started to sway vigorously and laggardly began to swirl together into one green blob. I quickly took out my bottle and thirstily slurped the cool water, feeling refreshed and anew.
I arrive home around 11:00 p.m. to a sleeping wife and child. I walked into my daughter Emily’s nursery to give her a kiss goodnight. I leaned in and placed my lips on her forehead as she lightly opened her eyes. I rubbed her back and sang softly to put her back to sleep.
The Renegade Robinson “War is foolish,” My Dad said over his newspaper one night, glasses pushed to his nose. “Don’t you boys get caught up in all this patriotic excitement. You’re going to become doctors and lawyers, not have your guts scattered across three countries These words of wisdom were spoken to us in the aftermath of the Pearl Harbor attacks. After this historical event, the people of our country seemed to go into a frenzy. American flags spontaneously appeared overnight, and now you could not step outside without seeing one in the lawn’s of every neighbor.

I jumped and looked around for the source of the eery sound. That’s when I saw It. The door. I hadn’t seen It before. The door wasn’t there last night. Cautiously, I turned the handle.
We’ve let out more sweat than we ever have before. Off in the distance we see trees, and where there's trees there's water. Every step felt like we lost a part of our body. When we finally make it to the trees we saw three trailers and a small, covered porch. We approach it not knowing what or who could be in there. We find stale oatmeal, cans of beans, beer and jerky so old it's turned white. We may be able to stay alive for two weeks with this. Everything out here is horrible, I don’t know how anything could live like this but it’s not normal, no animal or human being should have to live in this kind of heat.
As my eyes squinted open, trying to adjust to the sudden consciousness, light streaming through the windows straight into my eyes. I became aware of the pit in my stomach, threatening to swallow me whole. I rushed out of the cabin in fear of missing breakfast, although a YMCA camp in the middle of the mountains serves food like something I would find at my school cafeteria. I had only three days with these amazing people that I only see once a year and I planned on making every second count.
The visual surrounding the lake was perceived before the mountains was beautiful and serene. The lavender flowers near the water mirroring the colossal mountains smelled of spring. The sunset illuminated the sky making it purple and orange. The huge rocks were faultless and could be used for sitting and thinking. The warm breeze reassured that springtime was near. The lake was ideal for swimming, it was so clear. The cabins around the lake were perfect for summertime with family and friends. The clouds looked impeccable as they were angled over the mountains, their rectangular shapes resembled fluffy pillows. The snow had almost completely melted off the mountain in the distance. The environment was well needed for break within a busy life.
I never thought i'd reach such peace sitting on the hillside of an abandoned theme park. The depths i had gone through to reach this place would terrify anyone but it only thrilled me. This is it. The sun had just begun setting, the sky painted with colors no man could ever do the justice of recreating. Pinks, violets, oranges and yellows of all sorts filled the evening sky.
...t, I always assumed that rain was simply a type of weather. To me, the word rain was used as a clarification to help viewers understand. However, rain is so much more than just a clarification on the weather channel. Rain is associated with several emotions ranging from cleansing to depression, love to anger, and life to death. Sometimes I wonder if life would be better without rain; there wouldn’t be as many natural disasters or frequent reminders of depression. But then I imagine not being able to feel renewal and love, or see the effects rain has on life; suddenly, I realize that the positive effects of rain far outweigh the negatives. As you see the majestic rain gracefully floating down, recognize the simple beauty and importance in rain. Uncover those feelings you’ve been burying within you for so long; expose the emotions you’ve been hiding and feel free.
The water beats at the bank feel gently, and resides carefully to avoid over soaking it. The air is fresh and overwhelming with cool gushes of wind blowing past, provoking the trees to yawn and some times sleep. It was a lovely Valentine day and perfect for a picnic at Lake Lavon.
Here I could see many tropical plants and flowers as bright as the colours of the rainbow. The atmosphere here was calm, no. noise apart from that of the insects and animals. It was dark as well. as light as the sun tried to shine through the evergreen leaves of the tall, emergent trees.
