“Creek” “Hello?” I whisper anyone there? Let me start at the beginning. I was on a trip with my Girl Scout Troop 4082, At the place every girl and boy scout aspired to go to. Great Wolf Lodge. Anxiously we arrived ,and our hearts were like a beating humming bird wings. To play some games ,go on some slides and have a great day was what we planed . But that's another story. This Is what happen after all the fun was over. The worst part by far . All the girl scouts and boy scouts were in the same part of the hotel. Luckily, we went that noisy for everyone else in the lodge, and it mad thing drastically easier to find the room my friends and I were staying in. Finally after a long day we got back to our room. overflowing with
feeling of exhaustion , we dragged ourselves up the carpeted laced stairs. To get some rest. some of the other girl scouts were running ahead of the rest of our little group, But scampered back to inform us that my room door was open! The moms on the trip looked at each other with wide eyes and pale faces . We turned the corner to enter the hallway my room was in. I could see the bright red door, and right next to the door frame was a dark narrow pit of remorse and suffering . The other girls were right, the door was open. My heart sank, the thought that someone or thing dangerous may be in there and That I may have been the one to leave it open. Thankfully the Troop Moms were there and investigated the room . Everything was fine and we had an awesome rest of the trip.
Great Wolf Lodge is a great place to take a vacation, but this can be a really expensive trip. They are located all over the United States, but so far, we have only been to the one in Grapevine, Texas and the one in Kansas City, Missouri. We have been several times and from those trips, we have been able to pick up on a few ways to save money. If you want to go, but feel like it is out of your budget there are ways that you can make it work. Use these tips to help you out if you are going to try to take a trip to Great Wolf Lodge on a budget.
On the way to camp Kangaroobie we went to Mr Mcguane’s farm. The year 5 bus broke down so we came late. When we got there, we walked around this little river skipping rocks and getting stuck in the mud. When we arrived at camp, went to our cabins, and I was with, Emily, Felicia, Sarah, Grace and Klara, we packed our bag and went for a walk down to the beach! It was really fun because we went across rivers and walked through the sand dunes! When we got there, we jumped off and slid down the sand
Reading the opening sentences, grand visions of my childhood danced through my head. The story took me back to happy times of summers spent alone with my grandfather in the mountains of West Virginia. Like Nick, the camping and fishing trips were a welcomed relief from the city life and school for me. Although we were in a different area of the country the wilderness seems to be the same. Like Nick I remembered being dropped off near the edge of the wilderness to hike in and go camping near the river. “The river just showed through the trees” (Hemingway 480). As with the main character the river always intrigued me as a child. It was many things such as the smell, the sound, and the being apart of nature that I liked. Most of all I really loved having the one on one time spent with my grandfather. Just as Hemmingway describes, we to would tromp through the mountains for what seemed like forever. We make the trek all in order to find that perfect spot to set up camp. I often felt as Nick did “His muscles ached and the day was hot but…felt happy” (Hemingway 468). When we came across that spot, a quote from the story says it best “He was there, in the good place” (Hemingway 471), and “The river was there” (Hemingway 467). A sense of happiness filled my body because I knew what was soon to come. We would set up the camp and get something to eat. I could feel Nick’s pain of being “very hungry” (Hemingway 470); this was one of the down sides of the trip. My grandfather would not stop just to eat we would have to find are site then we would take a break for a quick snack before setting up camp. First we would survey the site and plan the best placement for our things. Hemingway wrote “He pegged the sides out taut and drove the pegs deep” (470), this passage brought flash backs of my grandfather telling me how important it was to get the lines tight and drive the tent pegs deep into the ground.
In the blinding haze of the preceding story, I am less able to comprehend why so many mature women have participated in the cougar mythology. After playing cougar for five minutes, I can honestly say I did not experience the wild adrenaline of a predator on the hunt or the euphoria of capturing prey. Instead, I felt like a wild cougar, preyed upon, in a canned hunt.
It was the middle of October, and it was finally time for my long awaited moose hunt. I have waited ever since I was a little girl for this opportunity, and it was finally here. So, my father and I packed up our stuff and left the warmth of Phoenix. We were leaving the "Valley of the Sun" and headed for a place called Wyoming. After two days and fourteen long hours of driving, we made it to our hunting unit.
The Grand Canyon, it’s truly is grand. The animals, the plant life, and the canyon’s history is something my father and I have been interested in for a long time. My dad, Erik, shows me plant specimens and fossils of animals i’ve never seen before. He once told me there was a type of vulture that are so close to extinction there are only 20 left alive in the world. We visited Arizona to see the Grand Canyon once dad got enough money to go on a roadtrip. I’m so excited to see my friends there, too. I brought so much snacks, maybe too much, and my backpack is kind of heavy for the hiking trip, but I’ll live through it.
I woke up one morning ready to go bear hunting with my papaw. me and him had to load the dogs up so I went and got them. We took off as we sped down twenty-mile road and out of nowhere they were roaringly load. We cut the dogs off the box they were out of there like a bolt of lightning. It took my dogs Sundance and Lilly nine hours to tree the massive black bear. We had to drive from about one end of twenty mile to the other which was about four hours of driving to get to the tree. When we got there, I got out my gun and started to go to the tree when we got there I loaded the gun and got ready to shoot there it was setting in the closest fork up the tree,
"Where is my dad at?" I said, thinking to myself, my dad has been just in the house. "He went to on the hill," said my mom. Wonder why he is up there for? Then I thought to myself he's probably weed-deting or something else up there. Then I got something to eat.
Big Bad Wolf is from Quickspin; hence you would expect a great gaming experience due to the good reputation of the company. Unlike its frightening name, Big Bad Wolf is a lovely fairy tale story based on three pigs and their attempt to build a straw house to keep away the wolfs. The slot has cascading spins commonly referred to as swooping reels the reels framed within the straw house. Other featured involved are pig symbols, a pig will turn into a wild card after every second win making it the most exciting and adventurous game.
Canaan and I traveled to Nevada for Halloween. When we got there, we had a hotel in Carson City that our dad and grandma had reserved for us. I woke Canaan up in the taxi that drove us from the airport and told him we were here. Our room number was 612, so it was on the 6th floor.
Hi, I am Ryan. I am 12 years old, the oldest child in my family. I live on the east coast in Chatham, NJ. I’ve never been to the west coast, but my family and I planned this amazing road trip through Big Sur, California, and I am very excited! I love nature, and from what I’ve heard from friends, Big Sur tops the list when it comes to the scenery and natural beauty. There is almost no technology distraction because Big Sur is in the middle of nowhere. I look forward to disconnecting from technology, and spending quality time with my family. One downside is that I am afraid of heights, so I am not entirely sure how driving next to a cliff for hours is actually gonna go. Looking forward to the best driving experience of my life. I just hope I won’t get motion sickness.
The first night we were there, we got lost looking for the bed and breakfast we were staying at that night. We kept driving by it, but we couldn’t find a way to get to it so we kept driving right by it and then get lost looking for it again. After forty five minutes of looking for the bed and breakfast we finally found it. We were finally able to take showers and then we went out to dinner, we found this cute little pizza place where ...
Once upon a time, I saw the world like I thought everyone should see it, the way I thought the world should be. I saw a place where there were endless trials, where you could try again and again, to do the things that you really meant to do. But it was Jeffy that changed all of that for me. If you break a pencil in half, no matter how much tape you try to put on it, it'll never be the same pencil again. Second chances were always second chances. No matter what you did the next time, the first time would always be there, and you could never erase that. There were so many pencils that I never meant to break, so many things I wish I had never said, wish I had never done. Most of them were small, little things, things that you could try to glue back together, and that would be good enough. Some of them were different though, when you broke the pencil, the lead inside it fell out, and broke too, so that no matter which way you tried to arrange it, they would never fit together and become whole again. Jeff would have thought so too. For he was the one that made me see what the world really was. He made the world into a fairy tale, but only where your happy endings were what you had to make, what you had to become to write the words, happily ever after. But ever since I was three, I remember wishing I knew what the real story was.
The entire family got together and it was always a last minute thing but no matter what was going on we all decide we would go up to County Park Lake to have family time. There would be my grandma and my Aunts and Uncles and their kids when we pulled up to the parking lot. Under the shade trees the women would be sitting trying to stay cool and the older men of the family stand around a grill they would be sitting up the charcoal pyramid to lite to start grilling the food while the kids where at the tot lot playing the equipment you could hear the laughter of the kids playing . Also the mean talking about which is the best way to grill. The women would be laughing at the guys arguing over which way was bett...
Since we were the new kids, we had to assemble in the school hall with
