This great range is perched in between two countries of France and Spain, but the two sides do not look anything alike. On the side of Spain it is a parched area with cliffs, but the tallest peak lays at this half with a height of 3,404 m or 11,168 ft (Pyrenees). As for the other half of the mountain range that sits in France, it is a beautiful scenery that is rich in timber, pastures, and streams. In addition to this the land is always green, beautiful trees that keep the air fresh and clean, the streams that flow in and out of crevices, and last of all the magnificent waterfalls that just help magnify the beauty of the scene that is more than just breathtaking …show more content…
There are some people who love to actually feel the blood flowing through the veins, a great liveliness is to catch a glimpse of the Running of the Bulls. In Spain around the beginning of July for about a week there is a massive celebration when people race bulls just to have some fun for a chance (Street). But if a bit more calm sounds better than, try visiting the Tour de France. A bike race that travels all around France. The hardest part of the race goes through part of the Pyrenees. When the racers hit this part of the race it is around the same time of the running of the bulls. One can hit two birds with one stone by going in the beginning of July. This is a chance that is so tremendous that is will either build the racers to become stronger or break them down. One of the last activities that one can do to just relax for a temporary period of time is going to The Petit Train D’Artouste, also known as Europe’s highest railroad. This is a sure way to visit the heart of the Pyrenees without having to take a time consuming and tough hike. People of any age are welcome to the smallest little toddler to the older grandparents that cannot move like they did in the good old days. This is a 50 minute ride of relaxing scenes and the ideal spot to have a picnic with the family (Pyrenees National). When visiting the Pyrenees people of any age can find enjoyment from a relaxing time or just having a great

“200 years ago, there was around 16 million greater sage grouse; Today there may be fewer than 200,000” (Dantzker and Swartwout). The Greater Sage Grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus) is a magnificent bird that only lives in the Sagebrush-steppe habitat. This habitat is seen in the western part of the United States and also some area of North and South America. From the study above, it should be obvious that the greater sage grouse were considered endangered by Fish and Wildlife Organizations. However, on September 30th, 2015, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Organization removed the sage grouse from the endangered “candidates” list, and stated that they would enforce plans to help the conservation of these birds. People should be aware that this is
I’ve always felt that animals are the purest spirits in the world. They don’t fake or hide their feelings, and they are the most loyal creatures on Earth and somehow we humans think we’re smarter. I chose this topic about the canine because, some of these canines risk their life’s to protect dog’s best friend.
First of all, one of South America’s greatest geological features is the Andes Mountains. The Andes are a major mountain range in Venezuela. The Andes mountain range is the longest mountain range in the world. To be specific, the mountain range is 4,500 miles long and 500 miles wide (Andes). The Andes stretch along the west coast of South America passing through several countries including Venezuela, Columbia, Ecuador, Peru Bolivia, Chile and Argentina. The Andes’ average elevation is 13,000 feet. One might not think this but in some places in the Andes Mountains there is snow and even glaciers. Mount Aconcagua, in Argentina, is the highest elevation of the Andes, at 22,841 feet above sea level. The Himalaya Mountains are the only other mountains that are taller than ...
When you hear Pit Bulls; what is the first thing that comes into your mind? Maybe, mean or just flat out dangerous dogs. Many people have Pit Bulls and say they are great dogs and that they are great family pets. Many still think they are not safe to have as pets and some states are even trying to ban the ownership of Pit Bulls. I believe that Pits are good family dogs and that people have the wrong idea about these dogs.
Bison bison, or simply bison, have an average body mass of 579 kg. They are herbivores, mainly surviving on prairie grass. Bison are selective grazers, and never remain in one place for long. This means they do not overgraze any one area. The hooves of bison leave indentions in the land where they travel. These indentions in the earth help trap moisture and rain fall necessary for plants to survive upon. The upturned earth also aids in burying seeds. Larger indentions may also be created when a bison rolls upon the dirt to cool off. These may eventually form water holes for all types of species. Wolves, bears, and mountain lions also hunt young, weak, and/or old bison. This allows predators to provide for themselves and their offspring. Females produce one calf per year with an average gestation period of around nine months. The maximum life span of a bison is thirty-three years. The average size
The Canada Lynx is a very powerful animal and it does not have many predators except for humans. This makes it very easy for them to adapt to their environment.
White-tailed deer, also known as the whitetail, is native to the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, and South America as far south as Peru and Bolivia. What are the things called antlers and what are they made of? Deer antlers are made of bone. They grow from pedicles, bony bumps found on the heads of all deer, and they drop off after the mating season ends.
Not long ago, many of the Native American tribes that lived in North America, particularly those in the Great Plains region, held a dependency upon the American bison (bison bison). While the Natives relied on their traditional methods of hunting and cooking that many people today would consider primitive, these bison were necessities to the Natives and hunting the animals was an essential to their well-being. A common knowledge in the history of the Natives is that they often tried to utilize as many parts of the bison as they could; they did not appreciate wasting any parts of these animals that were considered vitalities in their lives. The Natives often used the bison hides for clothing, blankets and teepees, made tools out of the bison’s
Everyone has a family member, friend, or beloved pet so sick you were not sure if they would live or die, and you find out about a new surgery procedure or medicine available to save them. Have you ever wondered where these new surgery procedures or medicines come from? When you think about all the major medical advancements over the last few decades and beyond, it has depended on animal research. As research moves into the future, we need to understand how the body works and how diseases progress. We need to find ways to treat, cure, or prevent disease and disability. The use of animal research is providing us with new technologies and medicines, which are benefiting both humans and animals in treating and extending lives.
You will realize that a well-trained dog can fit anywhere it is taken. You can go with it for camping, hiking and so on. This is because it is not likely to be a nuisance to others.
As the sun came into view, I rushed out of bed and into the living room. My dogs followed me like a pack of wolves. I immediately lead them outside the back door where there is a fenced area, so they could use the restroom. Once they finished their business outside; they ran up the stairs and into the house. Sometimes my dogs are excessively loud with their mouths. Whenever they are out of dog food or need more water they let me know by barking. It is one of their ways of communication. The way they stare into my eyes with joy is another form of communication. Taking care of a dog is not difficult; however, they do take immense responsibility. Now that I know how much responsibility it takes to own a dog, I can use it in the future.
