Graffiti Is Bad

Graffiti artists are being punished way too hard for their incredibly spectacular work. Graffiti is an incredibly popular form of art and people have been debating for a long time whether it is a positive or negative force. Graffiti is most commonly found in the most populated cities like London and New York. Graffiti is a very alluring force of good, because it gives people the opportunity to express their imagination, their ideas, and sometimes, political views.

Graffiti is a very famous form of art and some paintings can even gain global appreciation. According to Athlyn Cathcart-Keays ¨Although there are laws prohibiting graffiti, the city has gained worldwide recognition for its urban art.¨ Consequently, some of the most populated

cities are visited by tons of people and tourists each year for the amazing art that covers the walls. Moreover, some graffiti artists spend lots of time working very hard on their art, so that people may notice it and realize their thoughts. ¨In Bristol, the 2012 See No Evil festival saw 50,000 people flock to the streets; in Stavanger, Norway, the city walls are transformed into a canvas for the highly successful annual NuArt festival.¨(Cathcart-Keays). First, graffiti plays a major role as a tool for communication for political reasons. Second, people see graffiti as a terrible thing, but it is really just some people's way of communicating and showing their ideas. All around the world graffiti has been a source of inspiration to artists young and old to express their ideas and thoughts.
As previously stated, graffiti is a positive force because it allows people to express their mind and most importantly, their feelings. Some people see graffiti as annoying and awful, but if you realize the message it contains you will find that graffiti is more than just spray paint on a wall.
