Dreadful! how dreadful the night had become. The couple walked for hours under the light of the night's full moon with the sight of of their broken-down car left in the shadows. Anna and cory walked on, what seemed to be, an endless road with the lakes bright reflection on their left and a thick and dense forest on their right and nothing but the sounds of the nocturnal beasts to accompany them on their search for shelter. The couple continued to argue as if they were still in the car on their way home, but now for a different reason. They continued to march on the never-ending road, beginning to walk faster as the two became more and more worrisome. The house was old, it was made of large, dark planks of wood and looked almost like a cabin, it had very few windows and two cellar doors, which were locked, on the side of the house. It was at the end of the long cobblestone driveway they had walked on to the get there and was looked over by dozens of tall trees. The house was directly look over by the rays of light coming through the many trees from the clear nights moon and was contrasted by its shadows. Above the front door, under the only window of the house, stood a crow, a crow as dark as night with piercing orange eyes which gave the couple an uneasy feeling that they were being watched. Anna stepped to the door and rang the doorbell as the crow cawed and flew away. The two waited silently on the front porch as the tall metal door cried as it squeaked open revealing an old man with a sinister smile on his face standing in the doorway. Anna and cory followed the old man to the living room where they passed by the kitchen on their left and there were two doors on their right, one lead to the study and the other was the basement door but was, oddly enough, closed and locked with a steel chain. The interior of the house was old fashioned, it was lit with many crystal chandeliers and had fur carpets in the hallways. Corry noticed in the kitchen, on their way to the living room, multiple knifes and the carcase of a dead animal on the counter, he grew anxious. They arrived in the living room and the old man offered to make them some coffee and told anna the phone was in the study. The old man walked to the kitchen to make the coffee and anna made her way to the study at the front of the house. She walked on the creaking floors, past the fur carpets then entered the study. She jumped at the sight of the old mans art work on the wall at the end of the study behind the desk, it was a painting of somebody being eaten alive. She took the phone and dialed the number of a tow truck. It did not work, she began feeling discomfort as the man in the painting was staring at her. She dropped the phone on the desk and walked back to her boyfriend in the living room with pace as she tried to get away from the disturbing painting. Once again walking on the creaking floor and passed the fur carpets to arrive to the living
