It was a frigid morning. The faint sound of leaves brushing against each other had awoken the girl with copper hair. She stretched her long limbs out on the wooden floorboards. Letting out a sigh, she rolled onto her back so that the treehouse ceiling was all her eyes could see. The only warmth that comforted the girl was the sunlight that was slipping through the cracks in the walls of the small home. It did not take long for the past to slowly creep back into her memory. The girls heart began to beat irregularly as the vivid flashbacks and horrifying thoughts clouded her mind. She shut her eyes and tried frantically rubbing them to make the images disappear. Nothing was working. For every second that her eyes were open, it was real. She tried to focus on how to get out of the treehouse so that the storm in her mind could subside. Before she knew it, her and her backpack were out of there. She hopped down onto the forest ground. Her hands griped firmly on the aged straps of her book-bag. There is no place safe enough for her to go. She began to walk nonetheless. The sun was beginning to burn her skin and her hair bangs were making her forehead sweaty. Her hands crept onto the bottom of the window sill and began to push up. It took all she had, but the window opened enough for her body to fit. She shoved her backpack through the opening and then slid herself in. Putting her backpack on,starts to explore the home. Looking on the kitchen counter she finds all kinds of books. She flips through one and to her surprise, they were all in brail. She stopped flipping when she found a picture in-between two of the pages. It was what appeared to be a family. A mother, a father, and a boy. She decides to put the book down when she hears a
