Golf Monologue

I have been looking forward to today's round of golf with my two good friends, Geoffrey and Douglas. This will be my first opportunity to see Douglas in quite some time. His work has him dashing off to some far corner of the globe, on aviation business and he is hardly ever home here in London these days. Where, on the other hand, I see Geoffrey fairly regularly, as he runs the Reading Aero Club. When I find time to spare, away from the office, I slip over to Reading on a Saturday afternoon for a fly. This morning, the Weatherman had predicted a fine sunny morning with the possibility of afternoon showers. The time was just after 8.30am. "Well, I say, I certainly did not expect to see you here this morning." My tone of voice revealed my surprise. "Well, I gave your words some thought last night, that if I intended to play a round or two while in England, I would need a golf club member to sign me in. Douglas greeted me: "Hey, hey! It is Harry Day!" Extending his hand, as I joined the group. "Good to see you, Dougie. It has been quite a while since we last caught up." "Yes, Harry, it is amazing just how time flies. By the way, how is your new job working out?" "Any office work could be described as hum drum!" "That office job of yours can't be as bad as you first thought. I say ol' boy, I have been hearing about your after-hours lifestyle of nightclubbing with beautiful women."
