Modern day technology and advancements are starting to make everyday tasks seem old school and annoying. What would be do without our gps, cell phones, or even a dishwasher? Going to class may become a thing of the past just like using a map, talking face to face, and hand washing dishes, thanks to the “advantage” of online courses. The truth is, taking online classes is only going to hurt us in the long run. Just like staring at our phones for hours on end, online schooling can take away many important and precious moments of life and our social education. Physically going to class is going to help us in a social aspect and provide references, practice a healthy life routine, and in our book studies.
The first reason going to class is

We have to realize we can’t do everything on our own time and in our comfort zone, for example at home on the couch. It may be nice to be at home in our pajamas to do schoolwork but that isn 't preparing us for the realities of a real job. If we practice having a routine now, it will only get easier and we can learn our strong points, weaknesses, and what works for us to adjust our habits before entering our careers. Besides learning these, we will less likely blow off our assignments or start them late. Staying at home makes us vulnerable for distractions like playing on our phones or with pets, instead of focusing on the lectures. Not only will we be fully engaged if we go to an actual class, but we will learn …show more content…
If we have any questions or want to talk to a teacher we can do it straightforward answer, as well as from other students. Sometimes our curiosities can go astray from the topics we’re supposed to be studying, and that 's okay. Teachers are usually okay will it and having open discussions in class, which we can always learn from. Listening to their adult advice and personal stories or opinions is only more knowledge to us. Not only do we learn from our teachers, but from the students around us. There has been many times when a student has shared a story or opinion to the class that changed my perspective and helped me understand something
Teachers help us expand and open our mind by giving us skills throughout students’ early life to help students when they are older. By learning information from teachers, students become better people, in a couple of ways. Besides inquiring knowledge from their teachers, students learn to work with one another, open their mind to other peoples’ thoughts and ideas, respect one another, and learn different techniques for life’s issues.
As new technology starts to be introduced, online classes will start to be provided more. More students will have online assignments where they can have the option to stay home or physically go to school to work on them. This would help schools with the costs of devices, school foods, books, and the actual buildings. The technology we have now in education is close to this ideal situation of future education. However, the students in high school and grades under are required to go to school. The technology is advancing quickly and when people start to involve education with advancing technology, students are going to be prepared for future educations and their knowledge of computer skills and will be prepared for a higher rate of
Attending class is the biggest challenge. With most adult learners having to work full time and most classes being on weekdays, it is very difficult for them to get to class. Even stay at home mothers and fathers have huge time commitments and needs of growing family and children. Many of them find it difficult to find baby-sitters during the day time. Even evening classes and weekend classes, are available only for general education and business oriented courses. Continuing education programs which are available on the weekends are job specific and don’t provide enough flexibility in finding jobs. Many who choose to return to school are the ones who have been recently laid off from their jobs and may have even sold their cars to meet the financial situation. For them commuting by a public transport like bus or train may be long and tedious. Again, online classes and hybrid classes may be the only solution to this problem. With today’s technological advances they can be accessed anywhere and anytime using smartphones or tablets, like while commuting to work in a public transport or during lunch hour at
When I look back to my young developing stages in life, I always ask myself where would I be today if it wasn’t for my teachers? Teachers are the ones who build our future generations. Preparing children and teens for higher education. Also playing a huge part in shaping children’s lives, enlightening them, and educating them about society and the world around them; the types of things that a parent doesn’t have time for, or just lacks the knowledge of. I think teachers are what help make this world go round.
Imagine you are a student attending the university that you thought would be the perfect fit for you. And now you are finally there, after years of preparing you have finally made it. However, after a few classes you question whether this is the perfect fit for you. The cost is expensive and the hours of going to and from classes are adding up, not to mention the amount of time you spend in the actual lecture hall with five hundred other students. Your professor is mundane and your ability to focus with all of the side conversations is impossible. Almost all the material is in the textbook or online, but your attendance is often times mandatory, so you have to go and make that unwanted trek to class. Although you got to choose your schedule, it
When students are deciding on where to go to college, they have the option of choosing between online classes and the traditional classroom classes. Today, some students are finding it much easier to maintain a job, family and start a college career, all by taking online classes. Although some students still prefer to stick with the traditional classroom classes, they still have the option to take online classes. Both online and the traditional classes will provide the educational requirements needed to obtain a college degree and opportunities in the work field. Although the online classes offer just as much as the traditional classes, they are completely different when it comes to teaching methods, course material and time.
My personal philosophy on teaching is to inspire my students to think and to be objective thinkers. Like life, classrooms are filled with incidents on a daily basis. It 's interesting, as an active participant, to actually experience these moments shared between teachers and students as relationships are built mostly based on personality. As professionals, it 's expected that emotions take the back seat in decision making, but humans think with their heart a lot. A teacher in my estimation is one of the most human
Teachers serve as the guiding force in a student’s life. They are responsible for molding a student’s personality and shaping his/her mental orientation. Teachers deeply impact our lives and direct the course of our future. One cannot deny the influence of teachers in one’s life. In fact, it would not be an exaggeration to say that, till a certain age, out life revolves around our teachers. They are our constant companions, until we grow old enough to come out of their shadow and move ahead on our own.
Do you remember the teacher that inspired you to do your best? Or maybe the teacher who believed in you when the rest of the world had turned against you? Teachers have a way of touching students’ lives, whether in a large or very minute way. I can think of numerous times that a teacher made a difference in my life. I am so appreciative of them, and I want to do for other students what many of my teachers have done for me. That is why, after I obtain, both, my Bachelor and Master degrees, I plan to enter the teaching profession.
Socrates, a famous philosopher, once said, “I cannot teach anybody anything; I can only make them think.” This quote is interesting in the fact that in modern times it is mandatory to go to school for a certain length of time to be taught in order to learn. We have teachers that share their knowledge with their students so that the generations to come can continue to grow and develop. When a student is asked what their teachers do at school they will most likely respond with something along the lines of, “they teach.” This response is both true and false to an extent. While the teachers can provide their students with knowledge, it is important for the students to do their part by using their minds to understand it for themselves. Socrates
Education is an ever-changing part of society. A classroom teacher is faced with new challenges and obstacles that have never been dealt with before. Students come to the classroom with different life stories. Every student has strengths and weaknesses that surface in the classroom environment. Teachers must understand and focus on utilizing each student's strengths and work to improve weaknesses. Students learn in a variety of ways. The classroom must be a safe zone that appreciates student's viewpoints and allows room for mistakes. When topics in the classroom are related to "real-life" experiences, the information is more likely to be retained. Students learn from one another. The ideas and perspectives that each student brings to the classroom can bring insight into what is being learned. Students have to be allowed to explore new ideas, try them to see if they work, and sometimes fail. When students are encouraged to explore, they begin the process of becoming lifelong learners.
when you learn at home, you do not have to wake up so early. You can
Guiding my students to the correct path, can make students change their minds about their education. Teachers should make their students feel free to express themselves and share their opinions. Giving up our break for our students to encourage the students to feel comfortable in the classroom and opening up their dialogue among others. I believe that students should speak their minds.

Furthermore, some may suggest that online learning is benefiting our students in society. There has been a breakthrough in time and geographical limitations of education via online courses (Ho, 2009). Online education is cost-effective, efficient, and easily accessible (Schmeeckle, 2003). Online classes are used for individual and independent learning in which the student can learn at their own pace (Gonzalez, 2009). Not only is online education beneficial for breaking down barriers, online education has the potential to help students learn material more efficiently. Students are more likely to seek help from their instructors when the material is taught online (Whipp & Lorentz, 2009). Computer use in statistical classes could help decrease math anxiety (Gundy, Morton, Liu, & Kline, 2006). In a study that measured online students’ ability to achieve the same efficiency of course material as face-to-face students, at least 98% of students reported that they had, so one may be lead to believe that online learning is just as efficient as face-to-face courses (Liebowitz, 2003). With all of the positive aspects of online education, one may wonder why there is any debate as to whether or not online education is beneficial for
