Atlanta is the capital and the most popular city in Georgia. Atlanta was established at the intersection of two railroad lines. The city came back from ruin following the Civil War. Three of the most popular attractions among visitors to Atlanta is the Georgia Aquarium, The World of Coca-Cola, and the Atlanta Zoo. The Georgia Aquarium is the largest aquarium in the U.S. The World of Coca-Cola shows the history of the company, not only in the U.S., but also the world. The Atlanta Zoo is another famous and popular destination. The aquarium is in downtown Atlanta on land donated by the Coca-Cola Company. Its blue metal-and-glass exterior is made to look like a giant ark breaking through a wave. The world’s largest when it opened, the aquarium encompasses 550,000 square feet of covered space; its tanks hold 8,000,000 US gallons of fresh and salt water. The Georgia Aquarium contains between 100,000 and 120,000 fish and sea creatures, representing more than 500 species. The aquarium's animals are displayed in six galleries: Georgia Explorer, Tropical Diver, Ocean Voyager, Cold Water Quest, River Scout and Dolphin Tales. …show more content…

It opened in 1991, and remained open for 16 years until it was replaced by the new museum. The museum had almost 9 million visitors during that time to become Atlanta’s most visited indoor attraction. The museum was located in a one-story pavilion and its entrance had a huge blue Coca-Cola sign. The tour started on the top floor and worked downwards’ showing approximately 1,000 Coca-Cola artifacts. Today, there is an updated and more hands on experience that the Coca-Cola Company wanted.
