I believe that George Washington was one of the best presidents of the United States. Not only did he fight for his people, but he kept the nation alive during one of its biggest challenges it has ever faced. Also since he was the very first president of the United States, who knows where our country would be without him. Washington began many of the traditions and ways of working that we still continue today. There are many individuals in American History, whom we as Americans regard for their courage and audacity in shaping our nation. We learn in our history classes the great accomplishments of our founding fathers such as Thomas Jefferson, John Adams and Ben Franklin. One other great founding father and our First President, George Washington was one whom we learned much about. We learn in school that he is as a prime example of leadership, citizenship, and overall individual achievement for his many contributions to our nation’s earliest struggles. But although we are taught that George Washington was this man of great disposition, no man is without his flaws. Many scholars have sought to enlighten individuals to these cracks in the Nation’s perspective of our first president. The following composition will give an analysis of literature that shows George Washington was in consistent regarding his views on slavery. Although Washington is well-known for his many political accomplishments little is spoken about his views regarding slavery.
George Washington had character and was extraordinary. Ellis described Washington as an "incalculable asset." His leadership skills were unique. His actions were performed for his country, not for political gain. He was also directly associated with every major event of the Revolutionary War, the Continental Congress, and the building of the new republic. Even the country 's new capitol had his name. These were some of the things that made him so special. Washington was not prideful and not easily led. He offered suggestions and warnings to his replacements and told the government to expand in a way that would keep the country standing; he was well aware of how dainty the country was. The United States would never have survived without him.
The United States of America was formed by many president's of our time. One of these very influential presidents was George Washington. Courageous, smart and firm. The "founding father" has influenced many people today. Most people today think of George Washington as the first President of the United States. Perhaps they may remember that he was also the commanding general of the Continental Army. However, George Washington had much experience in the military before the Revolutionary War. Because of his experience, he was ideal for the responsibility of leading the new nation to victory over the British.
Washington was born in Westmore County, Virginia, on February 22, 1732. He is the son of the late Augustine Washington and Mary Ball Washington. Augustine was a tobacco farmer and a stock raiser. Washington spent most of his early childhood on the Ferry Farm in Fredricksburg, Virginia. He attended school up until his fifteenth year. Washington married Martha Dandridge on January 6,1759.
The soldier’s time to serve would be up in just ten days, the British continued to win battles, all hope of winning the war was fading and everyone was ready to put down their weapons and surrender to Great Britain. However, George Washington was not settling with anything less than trying their best. He kept that little flicker of hope that was still left, alive. The Continental Congress did not see much hope in the war either and turned the responsibility of the war to General George Washington. Washington received a message from Congress saying,
George Washington: You probably know him as the first president of the United States. I know him as a very effective leader of the country’s military, and a hard worker as well. Not only was he a great president, but he was also a successful leader in the military on many occasions as well. Humans have always struggled against confinement and toward freedom. However, they choose not to recognize that history has proved time and again that too much freedom incites anarchy and too much confinement invites tyranny. It’s the nature of all animals to desire freedom and resist confinement. Many times the animal struggles so blindly it does not recognize it is destroying itself or condemning itself to further confinement. George Washington is brave because he had the ability to risk is life for the life of the U.S. which might not have made it. He takes control of the army because the U.S. was hurt. The U.S. did not know how to function by itself so without Washington there would be no U.S. Washington left his hobby of farming to go fight a war that did not ask him to. We was brave enough to risk his life to speak in front of every enemy we fought. Furthermore George Washington helped inspire people with the amount of things he said. One of the bigger things that he said was “Liberty, when it begins to take root, is a plant of rapid growth.” This was a big part in the startup of the U.S. With the hero’s that are courage and are strong enough to move

He was institutional in helping develop the idea of a president rather than a king. He insisted on being called ‘Mr. President’ rather than a more traditional term like ‘Your Highness’ or ‘Your Majesty’. In the book American Government, Timothy Keesee says, “[…] the president can lost touch with reality and act more like a king than an elected president.” During his presidency he truly served the America people, never taking more glory than he deserved or using more power than he needed. From his humble beginnings as a surveyor of Virginia at only age nineteen to his amazing role in the American Revolution and first presidency, George Washington was an inspiring leader that our current leaders should strive to emulate.
