Experiencing gentrification has impacted people’s life in a positive way by repairing complexes to meet safety standards. Over many years, a complex will eventually gain wood rot, mold, dangerous hazards, and outdated infrastructure. The homeowners association will have to come together to discuss plans to improve living conditions and make repairs. As a result, the plan required that all owner’s must pay a fee in order for construction to begin and not everyone could afford the upgrades. As a result, part of the community will be forced to leave in order for the remaining residents to live in a safe, attractive environment. Gentrification has a tremendously positive effect on communities and the individuals that live within.

Research was done on how gentrification was beneficial to individuals in the community and found “collective efficacy has been shown to be associated with positive health outcomes at the neighborhood level such as lower rates of cardiovascular disease, obesity, sexually transmitted diseases, mental health outcomes, and all-cause mortality ”(Steinmetz‑Wood et al 5). The gentrified neighborhoods bring a sense of worth to the building and creates a prominent reason to create logical decisions on whether their decisions would be positive. People in a clean, safe environment feel like they have the ability to focus their attention towards furthering their goals without the fear of any physical harm impacting their daily lives. There are “ various anecdotal evidence that point to a positive impact of biking infrastructure (e.g., bike lanes) on local businesses and economy”(Pelechrinis, Konstantinos et al 8). The newly improved bike lanes create a beneficial situation for businesses and the government. With gentrification, new varieties of culture spread into cities, and one such is bike riding. The riders have access to pathways that lead towards numerous discoveries of businesses that could peek their interests. When the stores make money, the government makes money due to state and federal taxes. The tax money could be used to make repairs in roads, pay for emergency services, and increase funding for education in public schools. In the end, gentrification will improve a city's well being and create a more profitable
