Over half a century ago, Albert Einstein invented the theory of relativity. He developed this theory to explain apparent conflicts between the laws of relativity and the law of gravity. To resolve these conflicts, he developed an entirely new approach to the concept of gravity, based on the principle of equivalence. Many people wondered how he could even think up such a great theory and produce a formula like that. That is why most people call Einstein "The Genius."
What is genius? Is it a salutation for people who invent something new? Or does it describe a person who produces a great formula that is useful to us? Genius is a person who has an exceptional intelligence or creative power that not everybody has. It is also the ability to create something new and solve some problems quickly. This wonderful talent cannot be obtained; it comes naturally to some people. Sometimes genius can be inherited from one's parents or grandparents.
Most people confuse the meaning of genius with intelligence and creativity. The definition of genius is different from intelligence and creativity. An intellectual is someone who possesses a high degree of understanding. In other words, an intellectual is someone who is clever or smart. Anyone can be intelligent if he or she learns or studies something, but genius comes naturally without any learning. Some people can create unique and interesting things. They are called creative, people who are design with his own imagination and inventive. It is different from genius because creativity can be a more practical thing like inventing an electronic car, while genius can be both practical and theoretical.
Genius can be divided into two subclasses: artistic and scientific. In terms of arts, someone is called a genius if he or she designs a thing that nobody could think of yet. Michelangelo is one of the genius artists who designed a sketch of a helicopter before it was invented. At a young age, Salvadore Dali had an exceptional ability and produced paintings that were different from other people's, who were the same age as he. Moreover, a person who is a genius in science can produce a theory that changes the world and is beneficial to others. Besides Albert Einstein, Thomas Alva Edison, an American inventor, is one of the greatest geniuses and inventors of all time. Edison began to work at an early age and continued to work right up until his death.
A genius is a person who is exceptionally intelligent or creative. One of the most famous geniuses of all time, Albert Einstein, had an IQ of 160. An individual who is considered a genius, has an IQ of 160 and up. Also mentioned in Gladwell’s book,Outliers:The Story of Success,is Christopher Langan. With an IQ of 195,Christopher Langan, is considered the smartest man in America.
Howard Gardner used to define intelligence as “the ability to solve problems or to create products that are valued within one or more cultural settings” (Gardner 33). The modern day human being would most likely include the words “smart” and “dumb” in their definition of intelligence. Gardner questioned the belief of only one intelligence so he created his own theory that involved seven different discoveries. He didn’t want to call these discoveries “skills” or “talents” or gifts” because those all suggested a drawback so he decided on the word “intelligence,” creating his theory of multiple intelligences (Gardner 33). Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences including, linguistic, logical/mathematical, musical, bodily-kinesthetic, spatial, intrapersonal and interpersonal, has many implications for modern education and culture.
Geniuses are defined people of "an exceptional natural capacity of intellect, especially as shown in creative and original work in science, art, music, etc." (“dictionary.com”). Unfortunately, I have yet to meet someone with such a gifted privilege and I am sure this society is full with these gifted individuals who I envy. There have been many times that I have wished I had a high IQ because I do have the tendencies to struggle
Geniuses like Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein and Thomas Edison were not only smart, but they also devised new theories, solved mathematical mysteries, and pioneered new gadgets.
The theory of relativity is the basic theory about space-time continuum and gravitation which was mainly established by the greatest theoretical physicist Albert Einstein. According to the areas it aims to describe, Einstein’s theory of relativity can be classified into special relativity (space-time) and general relativity (gravitation) 1. The theory of relativity, as do quantum mechanics, brought a revolutionary impact on the foundation of modern physics, and thus had an impact on modern technology. And it impacted the “common sense” understanding that people had of the universe by its new concepts such as four dimensional spaces and curved space.
Albert Einstein’s discoveries and theories have had a positively enormous effect on the world. Some of Einstein’s biggest impacting discoveries and theories are the theories of Special and General relativity, the Theory of Relativity, Brownian motion, the discovery of the photon, and Einstein’s creation of the equation E = MC^2. Perhaps Einstein’s most beneficial discovery is his formulation of E = MC^2 which is crucial for space-flight and can help today’s scientist in gathering knowledge about our universe.
Surprisingly, intelligence is not defined as a single ability, but by a combination of related abilities. For instance, a savant that discerns numbers different than the average human, and uses those numbers to connect with others is an unconventional show of intelligence. And there are even infographics that people design, and dedicate time and effort into, showing their thoughts on intelligence. Lastly, there have been articles written about intelligence that layout the author’s thoughts on how intelligence should be viewed. While some people label intelligence as academic skills, an individual can actually develop many different forms of intelligences, outside of academics.
The Theory of Relativity, proposed by the Jewish physicist Albert Einstein (1879-1955) in the early part of the 20th century, is one of the most significant scientific advances of our time. Although the concept of relativity was not introduced by Einstein, his major contribution was the recognition that the speed of light in a vacuum is constant and an absolute physical boundary for motion. This does not have a major impact on a person's day-to-day life since we travel at speeds much slower than light speed. For objects travelling near light speed, however, the theory of relativity states that objects will move slower and shorten in length from the point of view of an observer on Earth. Einstein also
What exactly is creativity? To be creative is to understand and connect the small details of our experiences, both good and bad (creative something). Creativity involves a person using his or her original ideas to create something. Artists such as poets, writers, painters, designers, and more use creativity on a regular basis. They use creativity to come up with new ideas and create original works of art. A poet would use his or her creative abilities to write and produce a poem just like a painter would use creativity to paint a painting.
Dictionaries add still more definitions: Funk & Wagnall’s defines intelligence as “The faculty of perceiving and comprehending meaning; mental quickness; active intellect; understanding” , while Webster’s defines it as “the ability to learn or understand or to deal with new or trying situations; the skilled use of reason.” While some of these definitions are similar, none of them are exactly the same.
Intelligence by definition is “the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills” (Oxford Dictionary, 2014). However, many psychologists argue that there is no standard definition of ‘intelligence’, and there have been many different theories over time as psychologists try to find better ways to define this concept (Boundless 2013). While some believe in a single, general intelligence, others believe that intelligence involves multiple abilities and skills. Another largely debated concept is whether intelligence is genetically determined and fixed, or whether is it open to change, through learning and environmental influence. This is commonly known as the nature vs. nurture debate.
Although genius is a word that is completely different from intelligence, people often confuse genius with intelligence, because genius is a word that is related to intelligence. Genius is an “extreme degree of creative or other ability, usually demonstrated by exceptional achievements” (APA Dictionary of Psychology: Genius), therefore genius is unable to be used as a proper tool in defining intelligence. As a result of genius being a word of those who possess great intelligence and accomplish notable intellectual achievements, people often confuse the definition of genius with the definition of intelligence. Although genius is a high level of intelligence, g...
Anyone who takes the time to learn, and especially to acquire diverse knowledge, can express great creativity. As said by Vern Burkhardt, “The mythical views that we have about creativity and genius are almost impossible to reconcile with the scientific method” (Burkhardt). In other words, this quote is saying that no science is able to backup that creativity is linked to a higher IQ. So, all in all, anyone who applies themselves to a topic or field can be creative in that matter. You don 't have to be a registered genius to be
Since we are born we have imagination and as we grow up this imagination may increase or decrease. Creativity strongly relies in our imagination. Depending on different circumstances people learn to express their creativity openly while other people close themselves and believe they do not have creativity. Creativity is a natural talent that every single human has. Creativity can be used to solve a complex problem in a different manner or just to find innovative ways to have fun. Creativity is thinking out of the box. Even though creativity cannot be taught from scratch there should be a class that is specific for creativity.
The term “gifted” can mean many things. Up until recently it was the word used to describe people with profoundly high intelligence. Now, adding the words “creative” and “talented”, the category of giftedness has been extended to include not only exceptionally intelligent people, but also people with extraordinary ability in other areas, not just with IQ tests (Drew, Egan, & Hardman, 2002).
