The Marble Champ In the story the “The Marble Champ”by Gary Soto you meet Lupe Medrano. A shy and really smart girl who is not an athletic person at all.And throughout the story you start to learn more about what kind of person she is. I think that Lupe is always determined to succeed throughout the whole story. She never gives up,works hard,and has a really positive attitude towards herself and others. One reason why Lupe is determined to succeed because she never gives up. *An example of this is that she knew that she wasn't really good at sports yet, she still tried her hardest to get good at something athletic that she enjoyed.*Another example is that when things got tough she continued on and didn't break down.Like at the championship when she was going against the girl in the baseball cap she almost lost but pushed through and won.*The final example is that (once again) she knew she was bad at sports yet she still tried.
