Gary Ridgway normal serial killer or psycho serial killer? That question is asked among many people still to this day and considered a catastrophe for Seattle’s reputation. Gary Ridgway currently 63 years old, was born on February 18th, 1949 in Salt Lake City, Utah then moved to Washington in 1958. Gary had been married three times, producing one child from his second marriage. Gary told many he was religious, and would go around preaching about god, yet he was discriminating because, most of his victims were prostitutes that he had slept with dead or alive. For thirty years, Gary worked as a competent truck painter to support himself and his families. But when they made the decision to get in Ridgway’s truck, they didn’t realize it would end up being one of their last. Many casualties’ happened within the two years between 1982 and 1984. However, when the first body was found in 1982 in the Green River in Kent, the police didn’t have the technology they have today, such as DNA testing which made the case very intricate. This meant identifying bodies that had been in the water for a while had been difficult, and the police were very versatile at this. Also without DNA testing, they could not take samples of the dead victims that showed up all around King County. In early October of 93, the police needed some insight into the mind of a serial killer, which is where Ted Bundy came in to facilitate. Mr. Bundy gave them advice by stating, “that the killer likely knew some of his victims. He also said more victims were probably buried in the dumping areas where victims had been found. While I was reading I found evidence to prove this when he stated he would persuade the women by showing pictures of his son, with one time actually having his son, when asked if he would have killed his son if he would have figured out what his father was doing, Ridgway calmly and with reticence replied with yes. The ways he would kill the young women were by strangulation, first with his hands using the chokehold then he began to use rulers by bending them. He also stated that he would kill most of his victims in his own house, in the woods, or in his truck. For many victims torture didn’t stop there because with a few of his victims he would again have sex with their helpless dead bodies. So far only 49 women have been found but hopefully more will be found to apply the death penalty to a serial killer that truly deserves it, but also for the families that lost their daughters. For most families Gary Ridgway is like the devil in their minds, I also believe that he enjoyed the ovation from the community and press. Gary Ridgway is a psychotic killer.
