The term communication is freely used by everyone in modern society, including members of the general public, scholars and management practitioners. Communication is defined as the interaction, giving and taking of information, sending and receiving of messages through verbal and non verbal means.
Functions of communication varies as one must determine the function of the communication. Known as the primary function and in certain circumstances the situation or position may have one, two or three other secondary functions. For example, informing, controlling, persuading and co-ordinating.
Inform functions: An organization needs a vast amount of information to function and operate a business. The top management would require timely and accurate information for the various departments to make effective decisions.
Control functions: The management of any organization will always have plans with long, medium or long term objectives for the months and years ahead. To achieve these objectives, the daily & monthly activities must proceed as planned in order to achieve the objectives for the period.
Persuading functions: Persuasion usually involves the ‘selling’ of an idea, product or services to a person or group. Persuasive words or actions, there is a better chance of the person or group accepting it. Will result in voluntary compliance.
Co-ordinating functions: Every employee plays a part in controlling inputs, outputs, job scope and head count. Has to be well-coordinated.
In Any form of communication, there is a sender and receiver of the message. The question of whether the message is sent and how the message is received is of vital importance in communication. Communication is successful only when the receiver receives the intended message of the sender.
SENDER ---> ENDCODING ---> MESSAGE ---> DECODE ---> RECEIVER ---> FEEDBACK
The above is the communication process which has to be repeated until both parties finish expressing themselves.
In conclusion, Xenophon’s Apology successfully vindicates the Socrates’ defense of his piety in so far as it shows that Socrates holds a belief in that is no different than the one
In Plato’s Apology, Socrates uses religious appeals, proof by contradictions and various examples to argue for his innocence in court. Socrates is forced to argue for the sake of his life to prove that he is not guilty. In Socrates’ speech, however, he is not apologizing for anything instead, the word comes from the Greek word “apologia,” that translates to a speech made in defense. In this paper, I will argue that Socrates’ decision to stay in Athens and to accept suicide was unethical, because he purposefully antagonized the people who control his fate and this ultimately led to the death penalty.
Some may say that the main purpose of this activity is to have fun with family or friends, others affirm that it helps to keep a balance between species or even that it helps to keep a good economy but what about the animals? Did any of them deserve to die so that humans are no longer bored? Were they a hazard to human life? I don’t think so. So in this essay I’m going to present why Animal trophy hunting should be prohibited and removed from our lives.
Plato was the author of the Apology of Socrates, which was one of the four major works of ancient Greek literature. Though the title was the Apology of Socrates, the text referred to the defense speeches of Socrates against the Athenian council. At the end, Socrates was found to be guilty and was sentenced to death. However, the Athenian council was not acting justly because Socrates did nothing wrong as he had successfully developed a reasonable logic against the charges. I will address this notion through the analysis of the arguments and the logic that Socrates used to conduct his defense.
When many people think of hunting they think of cruel, evil people senselessly killing innocent animals. What they don’t realize is that hunting is a passed down tradition and a way for people to bond with others who share a love for the sport. There are two main types of hunting: bowhunting and hunting with a rifle. There are strict rules and regulations that apply to hunting, so someone can’t just go out and start shooting up all the animals. Before anyone can hunt, they have to pass a class and a field test in order to get their license. Without a license, you can’t buy tags. A tag is a paper that you buy in order to be able to kill an animal. You can hunt many different types of animals from birds to bears, but in this essay I will be talking specifically about big game. Big game is referred to as deer, elk, bear, and cougar. Although many people believe that big game hunting should be banned in the United States, they overlook the fact that hunting does more good than harm.
Communication involves the exchange of messages and is a process which all individuals participate in. Whether it is through spoken word, written word, non-verbal means or even silence, messages are constantly being exchanged between individuals or groups of people (Bach & Grant 2009). All behaviour has a message and communication is a process which individuals cannot avoid being involved with (Ellis et al 1995).
Communication is an interactive process whereby people seek to induce some form of change in attitude, belief, or behavior. (Moore, Hickson III and Stack, 2010, p. 5) It is the primary avenue that people use to send and receive messages through predetermined codes.
In 399 bce, Socrates was sentenced to death by the Athenian jury for supposedly corrupting the youth’s morals and thought patterns. Socrates had spent his life as an Athenian citizen, fighting in the Peloponnesian wars and as he got older, practiced philosophy and critical questioning, teaching other Athenians free of charge. In Plato’s Apology, he records the speech Socrates made to the jury during his trial. Its title Apology in this case, reads the opposite as it would today; his speech is his defense, for he believes he has not done wrong.
What is the communication? We have the communication with other people such as teachers, friends, family and also even the strangers in our life. Everyone will have many and uncountable conversations in our daily life. Communication is the process how the people interact with others and understand the meaning that other peoples convey. Besides that, communication is a field study in social science. It can explain the phenomena and the process of community interaction. Most importantly, what is the function and importance of the communication to me as a university student or to our society?
Communication is the process of conveying information to each another using words, actions, or by writing the information down to be read by another person. Communication is something that most people do at some point each day, and is an important part of life especially in a working environment. “The concept of communication is an essential part of every profession, and it is required to foster and maintain healthy relationships”( Jasmine, 2009, para. 1).
The managers must set organizational goals aligned with the company mission. This will provide a strategy for achieving those goals. For example, planning can be seen at every level such as creating goals for sales as well as for the customer experience (Higgins, 1994).
There are four different functions of management. In this paper, I will define these functions; planning, organizing, leading and controlling. I will also explain how each of these functions relates to my own organization. Bateman and Snell (2004) define management as the process of working with people and resources to accomplish organizational goals. By utilizing the four different functions of management companies can work with their employees and other resources to reach the organizations goals.
It aims to involve all students with disabilities, including severe disabilities, in academic and non-academic activities (Alquraini & Gut, 2012). According to Kenyon (2004), quality inclusion “must fit the details of day-to-day classroom instruction, it must be perceived by teachers, as being effective for all students and it must enhance the teacher’s current repertoire of instructional methods” (p. 10-11). There is support for inclusive education. Research has indicated that there are many positive effects of students with disabilities being placed in a setting with general education peers as opposed to self-contained classrooms (Katz & Mirenda, 2002b; Turner & Traxler,
Every classroom will have their differences. An inclusive classroom must be able to have an appreciation to the student diversity. With the inclusive classroom every child should be taught and interpreted in the inclusive classroom. Every child in the world should be looked at equally, but children should be taught a little about their differences. Most children that have a student in a classroom with them, get interested in certain things about them. So, while a child who has disabilities is learning how the other children are learning, and doing certain things children who do not have disabilities are also learning about the child with disabilities and how he/she is learning about certain things. Appreciation of the student diversity will enable a child to feel wanted, understood, and
