Teacher Reflection In this lesson, I found that students really enjoyed the Jigsaw activity. They were engaged in the lesson, speaking and asking questions to one another. It was going over the Free Speech worksheet that I found students were the most engaged, by asking questions and discuss the scenarios.
The one aspect that through me off a bit was, grouping the students. When planned out the lesson, I planned out the grouping for all of the students and when a few were absent, I had a difficult time adjusting. It took me a minute, but eventually I figured it out. I have also been trying to work on direction, so what I have started to do is incorporate the instruction into my presentation. I will also go around give individual instruction, which works out well since some of the students need more individual instruction. This also allows for me to check student work and give feedback, and interact more with the
I am thankful that I had this experience. What I found in watching the video, was that I need to work on my speaking ability. Fewer giggles, an increased grasp of words, and working on leading students to correct answers through asking the right questions. My strengths included beginning the session by introducing ourselves to each other and creating a welcoming environment. I intentionally worked to invite all the students by name to offer their opinion on the videos and stories. I deliberately incorporated the teaching methods that we were taught that Jesus used, beginning a lesson by first asking what your students already know or believe, then complimenting them on what they knew. This task I found to be difficult at times. I would catch myself saying, “no your wrong”, instead of finding a more politically correct way to acknowledge their
List one criterium for a secondary source of literature, and describe how you would use it correctly. (1 pt.)
What two significant historical events/ trends were occurring when the document was created? Do not include the specific document, but select related events or trends that contextualize the document. What is the context (background and events going on) of this primary source? Include 1-2 sentences explaining the event/ trend.
First, the historian must refer to primary sources, must describe how he selected his sources and how they are useful, and must quote, refer to, or interpret sources responsibly (representing their context, content, and importance as accurately and fairly as possible) and precisely (using them to clearly support his specific arguments, not haphazardly or too generally). This satisfies the reader by relating (at least one version) of what really happened, and showing how the author justifies his analysis in light of historical fact.
In this assignment, I needed a purpose and a key issue to complete this assignment. The purpose of this assignment was to create a research paper about philosophy and I had to explain how it played a role in Ancient Greece. I had to explain about my assigned philosopher who was Epicurus and I had to discuss how he felt about government and what he teaches the people of Ancient Greece. The key issue is to accurately write an organized essay with multiple sources. I had to get two physical sources and at least one source from the internet. In every quote I had to explain or paraphrase that quote and that shows Clarity. Then when I was finished with the internal citations, I had to develop a works cited page with all the sources I used in my research paper. This shows that I used accuracy and precision because I used sources ...
A flexible academic integrated instruction or behavioral support that it’s provided and adjusted to every student need to promote success for all.
Primary sources are important because they give the reader first person accounts of people’s direct experiences as they were experienced by the person, and witness accounts of what someone directly observed of a situation or event. Primary sources are used in history to give accounts of what was happening at the time from someone who lived that event, and can recount what happened as they experienced it instead of things written on the subject that have to rely on outside information to write the story because they were not there.

...t does not allow the completion of the hours needed for the intervention. Due to the inflexibility whatever time was given I had to use and it was inadequate. Students were not able to actively engage and the time spent in the classroom was not effective and efficient. The numerous occasions students were absent due to illness and heavy rains. In addition to that there were occasions were the class teacher found it necessary to with hold the children due to her scheduled internal and external assessment and appraisal.
...ualized plan due to time constraints, it is reasonable to treat each student as they do have an individualized education. Teachers should know their students well enough to individualize the classroom activities so all students have strengths in each lesson. Through collaborative efforts, teachers can gain knowledge about the students and new ways to teach according to different learning styles. Working together, each student can receive an individualized education where their full potential is used.

...ust take place. First, informal assessments must occur to understand the learning level of students and skill areas needing to improve. Using interest surveys help in planning for activities to keep students engaged in the learning process. Next, assignments must match the student’s learning and instructional level. In addition, incorporating flexible grouping by learning styles, interests, and intelligences affords the learner a better chance of success. Finally, differentiated instruction is slowly leaning towards personal learning where students choose their own paths through the curriculum reported Richardson (2012b). In my opinion, this will be the future of education, as classrooms of this nature will cultivate self-paced, self-interested, and self-motivated students who fully take on the responsibility of their education, while doing so alongside the teacher.
For Doman 1, planning and preparation, I believe that I demonstrate adequate skills. I work hard to make connections to my content knowledge with other subject areas through discussions with general education teachers for social studies and science curriculums (Danielson, 1996). As a special education teacher, I must have a full understanding of my students (Danielson, 1996). I design lessons that are the instructional match for my students, modify grade level curriculum, and accommodate for different learning styles. I also try to choose books that would be interesting to my students and create math story problems around the activities that students participate in. Assessing student learning is critical to monitor instruction and to report student progress accurately (Danielson, 1996). The development of this component was a goal of mine during the first semester of this school year. I feel that now, I have acc...
Freedom of expression is a fundamental human right. It reinforces all other human rights, allowing society to develop and progress. The ability to express our opinion and speak freely is essential bring change in cotiey.why is free speech important?-Free speech is important for many reasons.Free speech has always been important throught history because it has been used to fight for change. When we talk about rights today they wouldn’t have been achieved without free speech. In past woman not being allowd the vote,or terrible working conditions in the mines, free speech is important as it helped change these things.
After finishing the teaching part of the lesson, I realized that not everything goes according to plan. For example, in our lesson plan, we had the explain portion detailed and outlined to teach students the technical terms of what they were seeing in the stations and other activities and make it a collaborative effort within groups to work with the vocabulary words. However, the teaching of the plan was not well executed. Also, I learned that teaching a topic does not have to be boring or just full of worksheets. Fun, engaging lab stations and interactive activities can fulfill the standards and requirements just as well, if not better, than basic worksheets and PowerPoint lectures. Lastly, I realized that lesson planning and teaching require a great deal of effort and work, but it is all worth it when a light bulb goes off in a students’ head and they learn something new and are excited to be learning and extend their science
