Football players in the National Football League (NFL) are kneeling during the national anthem to protest many things such as police brutality. Colin Kaepernick kneeled to bring notice to the fatal shootings of black men over the summer. Such as the Alton Sterling and Philando Castile shootings earlier this year. The article talks about how new rules about kneeling are being discussed, but they have not been finalised or even really planned out. The football players are kneeling to show us that what is happening in the world is wrong. The American Revolution was a war between Britain and their thirteen colonies, the war started because the thirteen colonies, who were also called America, were mad at britain because they were taxing them without
representation and they were seizing their land. The war began when the british shot into a crowd of protesters killing 5 colonists, this event was known as the Boston Massacre. The dictionary says the a revolution is “an overthrow or repudiation and the thorough replacement of an established government or political system by the people governed” (Revolution). The kneeling during the anthem is a revolution because they are trying to change what is happening with the police and the what happened over the summer. The American Revolution is a revolution because the colonists were trying to overthrow the British government. These events relate to each other because they both started because of an unfair or unjust shooting that happened. For the British it was the Boston Massacre, and for the players it was the unfair shooting of black men by the police this summer. They both believed that how they were being treated was unfair; the colonists thought how they were being taxed without representation was unfair, and the players think how the police are targeting blacks especially black men is unfair. This current event is important because it shows us how football players are using their fame to try and make a change in the world. I believe that what the players are doing will make a difference because even if people don’t like what they are doing they are still going to talk about it. If they talk about it then they will still be giving the protest thought which is what the players want, for people to think about what’s happening in the country.
What started the whole revolution was America’s need for independence from Britain. The Americans wanted liberty and to be free from the British. They believed in being free more than probably any other country, and were willing to fight for it, too. Americans saw liberty as something everyone should be given. (By everyone, I mean white males.) Because of this, they fought in the Revolutionary War to win back their freedom...
The NFL in particular is known for its focus on order, power and control, where operations are anonymous and interchangeable. With that players and employees are none else than compliant with league regulations. In this case Colin Kaepernick’s protest had the ability to go against the grain and break the façade of being afraid to voice his opinions. Today’s generation has become very open to sharing their opinions on social issues and Kapernick’s protest is just an addition. This protest instantly became political because of the fact that police brutality and racial is becoming a persistently uncomfortable issue that our country is facing. Every single there is something new about citizens being killed by the police for no reason, including recent cases such as Philando Castle and Terence Crutcher. Such issues will not be resolved until our society stands against it as a whole. It takes public figures such as Colin Kaepernick to stand with citizens to bring awareness about these issues in order to force change in the government and society. Whether industry leaders like it or not, I believe that such protest will continue to grow. Athletes and entertainers will continue to voice their opinions about social issues until changes come into effect.
Playing football comes with several risks factors that players’ acknowledge prior to playing the game starting a young age. Regardless, these players still chose to play the game, which they end up loving and cherishing despite all the risks accompanied with it. Football is one of the toughest sports in the world; it takes a certain amount of strength, speed, and aggressiveness to play 48 minutes of hard-nosed football. However, the National Football League (NFL) is in the midst of a controversial issue. Is the NFL getting soft? This has been a debatable issue for several years. While some believe that implementing all these rules in the NFL is progressively turning the game soft, others say that the NFL is not getting soft; it is just trying to make the game safer for its players.
The American revolution started when The King of Britain lost an immense amount of money. He bought high priced equipment and supplies for the army that basically costed an arm and a leg. Which led him to decide they would regain their money by taxing the colonist. His poor decisions of taxing the people without their agreement outraged them and sent them into a state of revolt.
The revolutionary war of 1775 – 1783 was a victorious military uprising against Great Britain of 13 American colonies which merged to form United States of America in 1776. Initially, the war was between the colonies and Great Britain but it escalated to involve other countries such as Spain and France. The taxes imposed on Americans by the British parliament were the cause of the war. Many Americans felt that the taxes were unlawful hence they started resisting (Greene & Pole, 2008). In 1774, the rebellion started officially when the Patriot Suffolk Resolves successfully eradicated the legal government of the province of Massachusetts Bay (Greene & Pole, 2008). After two years of fighting, the rebels had seized control of all thirteen colonies and they declared their independence.
The Revolutionary War was a war between the Thirteen Colonies and Great Britain from 1775-1783 during the American Revolution. The American colonists fought the British in hope of freedom and separation from Great Britain. “This was the completion stage of the political American Revolution whereas the colonists had denied the rights of the Parliament of Great Britain in governing them without any representation,” ("American Revolutionary War."). The Revolutionary War consisted of many different bloody battles on American soil. The war resulted in an American victory because of many historical reasons. The factors that contributed to an American victory of the Revolutionary War are British debt, distance between America and Great Britain, war tactics, French involvement, and important battles.
The American Revolution (1775-1783) was a war between England and the colonies which were settled earlier by the English. There were many factors and events that led to the American Revolution. The Revolution was mainly an economic rebellion that was fueled by taxation without representation following the French and Indian War. The English Parliament was more often than not considered cruel and unfair by the colonists. With conflicts over trade, taxes and government representation, the colonies were at a starting line of a revolution that would later transform into the basis of the United States of America.
The American Revolution, or otherwise known as the American War of Independence, took place between the years of 1775-1783. The war was fought between Great Britain and the 13 British North American colonies. The American Revolution caused a series of traumatic events. The American colonists were justified in waging war because the British seized the rights of the colonists, the American colonists did not have a say in Parliament, the Boston Massacre, and incoherent decisions involving taxes by the British King. For example, the British were believed to have too much power.

The American Revolution began for many reasons, some are; long-term social, economic, and political changes in the British colonies, prior to 1750 provided the basis for and started a course to America becoming an independent nation under it's own control with its own government. Not a tyrant king thousands of miles away. A huge factor in the start of the revolution was the French and Indian War during the years of 1754 through 1763; this changed the age-old bond between the colonies and Britain, its mother. To top it off, a decade of conflicts between the British rule and the colonists, starting with the Stamp Act in 1765 that eventually led to the eruption of war in 1775, along with the drafting of The Declaration of Independence in 1776.
It all started last year whenever a 49ers player decided he was going to kneel for the National Anthem. Colin Kaepernick felt that because of his race and what he believed in he shouldn’t have to stand for the National Anthem. At first it wasn’t a big deal until other players in the NFL decided to follow him. On September 24, 2017 is the day that everyone went crazy. The steelers team on Sunday decided to not come out of the locker room, because of a tweet the President made. Except for Alejandro Villanueva, a Veteran who served three tours in Afghanistan. Helped by the news, all over the U.S. people were either agreeing or disagreeing with what the Pittsburgh Steelers team decided to do. I believe that the Pittsburgh Steelers should have stood no matter what.
Once everyone was against England, the people were ready for war. The American Revolution started for many reasons, some of the few being social, economic, and political changes. Colin Kaepernick along with the rest of the protesters are not doing it to disrespect the nation. In “Eric Reid: Why Colin Kaepernick and I Decided to Take a Knee”, Eric Reid states “It
Kneeling for the national anthem keeps the conversation about racial inequality going. According to “Pro/Con.org” during the 2016 election year an important discussion about race, class, and violence was nearly abandoned by the news media. Protesting at a sports event is taking a stand for racial inequality. In the article it states that the black power solutes, a political demonstration was led by African American runners Tommie Smith and John Carlos at the Summer Olympics. Choosing to protest the national anthem is a person’s right as a citizen. “Pro/Con.org” also says that people in the sports industry support Kaepernick’s right to protest.
