Food is a tool used to control people lives as the years slough toward the 20 century the food crisis increases instead of decreasing. Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the world as we explore the cases of Haiti we see the food insecurity and the unequal distribution of power which lead to all the food benefiting the rich people within the country. This essay will outline the challenges brought about food production, distribution and access to food in Haiti. Explore local and international factors affecting food production and access to food in Haiti.

This act is called deforestation which results in the top soil becoming eroded and then farmers cannot use the soil effectively to get large amount of agricultural product. Haiti is overcrowded people are living in thrash where there is no safe water to drink or bath. The water is contaminated with diseases therefore people are dying in numbers. Due to poverty and the earthquake people do not have houses they stay in informal settlement (shacks) without food and sanitation.
The multinational corporation has full control of the food system. Multinational corporation control what framers produce, how they produce the good and how much to produce. Multinational Corporation has led to unequal distribution of food which is highlighted in Haiti. The sole aim of Multinational Corporation is to earn profit (Patel, 2007). Factors that would improve Haiti economic state but in turn does not make profit for the MNC thus they only invest in projects with huge beneficial economic gain.
