Final Project: Brokeback Mountain The movie discussed in this project is Brokeback Mountain, directed by Ang Lee. This movie was released on 2005. The movie is about two young men, Ennis Del Mar and Jack Twist, that get a job taking care of sheeps during the summer on Brokeback Mountain in Wyoming. Ennis is engaged to Alma. They are getting married in the fall. Ennis wants to have his own ranch one day. Jack wants to become the greatest rodeo cowboy alive. Ennis and Jack become friends and later on they start going out. By the end of the summer, both of them go on their own way. Ennis married Alma, and they have two girls. Jack has a son with a cowgirl called Lureen whose father is wealthy because he has a business that sells machineries for farmers. Later on, Ennis and Jack get in touch again, and they start doing “fishing trips.” Alma sees Ennis and Jack kiss the first time Jack comes back to Wyoming and visit Ennis. She gets suspicious about the trips and later realize the truth about the fishing trips. Alma and Ennis get divorced, and Ennis can only see his daughte...
The movie High Noon the setting is Hadleyville; they live in a dessert in the old west period. However both settings are isolated, and away from civilization where the story focus on the isolation to show that both characters are alone with no one to help
The movie “Cotton Road” is about the way American grown cotton that is sold to China and then made into products that are sold back to America for the publics use. The movie also shares the perspectives of multiple people involve in the “Cotton Road” from the growing of the cotton to the transportation to China, and the transformation from raw cotton to clothing products. The cotton is grown on a farm in South Carolina, and there are perspectives given of that farm owner and the main farm worker. When in China there are perspectives given from dock employees, transporters and cotton factory works such as the cook, fabric imperfection checker, and main clothing maker. Relationships are complicated, not every relationship will last, and this seems to be the most apparent with romantic relationships, as these types of relationships two partners will often come together and open up to each other and become very close. Every relationship needs effective communication, and this is evident in the film, The Breakup; starring Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn. This film ties in with Interpersonal Communications very well as it portrays its message of poor communication very well. Models of Relational Dynamics, couples conflict styles, crazymakers, and conflict in relational systems are some of the topics that the film perfectly depicts.
The film "Garden State" is an eccentric drama; in addition, a romance comedy, with a slew of complex, innate cast of characters, each deeply entrenched in profound emotional and psychological scars, ascending from the regrets of their past. The film is a reflection, on rediscovering yourself after years of goalless ambiguity. Writer/Director Zach Braff, stars as the films’ chief character, Andrew Largeman. In James Berardinelli’s movie review, he said: “Garden State is one of those movies that fails to stay with the viewer for an extended period of time. It 's a forgettable film featuring a throw-away story with unmemorable characters and unremarkable performances.” I must disagree; although "Garden State" can be a tad somber, moody and too subtle for many viewers. Yet, the film is fantastically intriguing, by arousing viewers thoughts, and stimulating ones emotions, and that 's exactly what draws viewers in. I have chosen to review the film Boyhood written by Richard Linklater that took twelve years to film. In the movie Boyhood, it illustrates the life of a boy named Mason Jr. through the many stages of his childhood to adolescence to becoming an adult. The movie follows Mason Jr.’s life through his years of kindergarten, middle school, high school, and to college. Through these milestones in his life encounters society with socialization, culture and norms that are exhibited through his family, friends, and others. With factors of social classes, and gender that influence Mason Jr. as he grows and fits into the society that is formed. In today’s world appearance seems to be everything. Women see the opposite in what men see in them. People are quick to judge others on how they look rather than what kind of person they really are. This is true when it comes to our needs in the opposite sex. The film is based on “Hitch” trying to help others when it comes to dating. The main thing is getting others to see what really matters when it comes to meeting that significant one. This movie is about a tribe on the island of Papa New Guinea. They are called the Dani. This tribe lives in the middle of the island. Near their enemy, another near by tribe. They live in little huts made from mud and wood. There tribe consists of about twenty to thirty people. If you are a man your day starts out by going to your tower, checking to see if the enemy is going to attack today then, signaling with smoke from a fire if it is ok for the others to start working in there gardens. While these men watch for their enemy they will keep busy by weaving bands decorated with shells and fur for the decoration of the dead. Another job that men do is they break up the soil and help out with the gardening. The young men are also the front line in battles. Women are responsible for most of the gardening. They also gather banana leaves for soaking up the brine to make salt and preparing food. Children have jobs also, they tend their pigs on the frontier and frequently gather with other children there size and play fight and grow pretend gardens.
The movie I decided to analyze for this course was American History X (1998), which stars Edward Norton. Though this movie isn’t widely known, it is one of the more interesting movies I have seen. It’s probably one of the best films that depict the Neo Nazi plague on American culture. The film takes place from the mid to late 1990’s during the Internet boom, and touches on subjects from affirmative action to Rodney King. One of the highlights of this movie that really relates to one of the key aspects of this course is the deterrence of capital punishment. Edward Norton’s portrayal as the grief stricken older brother who turns to racist ideologies and violence to cope with his fathers death, completely disregards the consequences of his actions as he brutally murders someone in front of his family for trying to steal his car. The unstable mentality that he developed after his father’s death really goes hand-to-hand specifically with Isaac Ehrlich’s study of capital punishment and deterrence. Although this movie is entirely fictional, a lot of the central themes (racism, crime punishment, gang pervasiveness, and one’s own vulnerability) are accurate representations of the very problems that essentially afflict us as a society.

It is a dynamic and a set of characteristics possessed by their atmosphere, cognitions, emotions, motivations and behaviours in various things. Personality conjointly refers to the pattern of thoughts, feelings, social adjustments and behaviour consistently exhibited over time that powerfully influences one’s exceptions, self-perceptions, values and attitudes. It also predicts human reactions to different folks, problems and stress.
In the film adaption of Brokeback Mountain, Ang Lee, with the help of Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossana, expands certain scenes in the screenplay in order to shed more light into the lives of the two main characters. Lee directly parallels the Thanksgiving dinner scenes of Jack and Ennis to contrast each character’s status in their lives outside of Brokeback Mountain while also using these family scenes as a reminder of Jack and Ennis’ other lives. These Thanksgiving scenes represent a shift in power; Ennis is no longer the calm and composed one with a handle on his life—Jack is now the one who is starting to feel more secure in his life. By juxtaposing the two scenes, Lee illustrates the strong friction of Jack and Ennis’ realities following the sudden shift in their relationship after Jack drives over after hearing about Ennis’ divorce. Because Annie Proulx focuses on Ennis’ life and his regrets, we are unable to understand Jack’s side of the story. The film, however, is able to expand on the idea that the divide between dreams and reality drives Jack and Ennis apart over time; in these Thanksgiving dinner scenes we see the inevitable change and consequences of their distinct beliefs.
After watching the movie “The Break Up”, I can say that the protagonist Brooke Meyers and Gary Brobowski are a couple that live together in a condo where they share everything and care about each other. From the beginning to the end of the movie the couple experience different changes in their relationship, which start when they met in a baseball game, and end up when they decide to break up. This movie have clear examples of the different stages of interpersonal relationships, and how they affect us and our lives.

White Chicks is a popular American comedy that was released in 2004. This unforgettable movie depicts the lives of two black FBI agents, Kevin and Marcus, whom havent had any success in their careers or personal lives. As they reach rock bottom, the agents decide to take matters into their own hands. They devise a plan that requires them to diguise themselves as two famous white sisters, who are being used as bait for a local kidnapping, for the weekend. Although they reach minor and major setbacks in their strategic and risky plan, they ultimately discover the culprit of the kidnappings and return to their normal lifestyles. This film recieved outstanding but unkindly reviews but it is undoubtfully one my favorite movies.
Based on a true story, the movie ‘Lone Survivor’ features four Navy SEALs that set out on a mission to Afghanistan with orders to capture and kill Taliban leader Ahmad Shah. The Navy SEALS are detected by villagers and the mission was compromised. Ultimately, the mission had been discovered and the men found themselves surrounded by dozens of Taliban soldiers. One of the Navy SEAL soldiers managed to dispatch to base and retrieve assistance but the Taliban shoot down the helicopter. During battle, three of the Navy SEAL soldiers were killed leaving one still alive.
