Being able to accept feedbacks from other people helps us to think deeply. However, all individuals have different perspectives and attitudes, which means not all people would agree with our opinions. Disagreement may lead to controversy if one does not listen to others patiently. The organization that I have been volunteering for is the Portland Asian Health and Services Center (AHSC). During the past few weeks, I participated in some of their events. We opened to feedback at the end of each event in order to improve our service quality if there were any negative feedbacks. I received some feedback while I was volunteering for the events. And most of these feedbacks were positive since the AHSC has helped asian immigrants in the local community for more than three decades. Two weeks ago, the AHSC organized a trip for their elderly clients, which was Portland River Spirit Lunch Cruise. Participants had a wonderful time on that day. During the trip, a client told me that it was great that having such a good time with other clients. It was a community health and education exchange event which organized by the AHSC and four schools of Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU). During the events, students of OHSU provided general physical exams to AHSC’s clients. Each clients had scheduled an appointment before they went to the event, and the duration of each appointment was supposed to be 30 minutes. However, on that day, some exams were exceed 30 minutes, which means that some clients needed to wait. A client complained that her physical exam should be started at 1:00pm, however, she waited until 1:20. I felt like it was difficult to explain since things might be unpredictable and inevitable. But we did apologize to those who waited for a long time, and promised that we would improve our service
The facility required five appointments to be “accepted in the program”. The clinic was a four hour plus round trip (travel tine only) on a light traffic day. - failured to intercept a written referral for a surgical procedure (bursectomy) on the wrong hip. Had I not been present this procedure would have been initiated. - caused unnecessary extended pain and suffering involving four ambulance supported emergency room runs and years of NPH complications due to your medical ineptness.
The medical physicals were being conducted as a direct result of the employees complaining of possible carpel tunnel syndrome (CTS) from the repeated work they were doing in conjunction with their jobs or occupations. There ailments weren’t from prior medical problems like the company was secretly trying to uncover. These complaints hailed from the worker’s after many years of working. The repeated pressure and motion endured in their wrists, while working their specific occupation, has caused many of them pain and undue suffering over the years.
The receptionist was on the phone for quite a long time before she could reach out to Ms. Patient. In the end, the receptionist just took Ms. Patient’s insurance without any clarification and made her wait for a while. Additionally, she was unable to focus on Ms. Patient and got distracted when another patient asked for indications. The receptionist clearly indicated unprofessionalism when she was unable to provide adequate information for the patient when she was disoriented. Also, the receptionist did not have any manners when she failed to excuse herself when another patient wanted to speak with her. Ms. Patient stated that she felt extremely vulnerable and lost when no one was able to help her understand what was going on. Volunteering at Light the Night has a story. For my 16th Birthday party, I wanted to have my friends and I volunteer in the day while having fun at night. So I had 7 boys and girls, along with me, volunteer for Light the Night, organized by me. The party was a huge success and a lot of fun. I look forward to organizing more volunteer opportunities for my friends and I.
Ohio Dep’t of Rehabilitation & Correction are the poor-quality patient care that Tomcik received and Tomcik’s health being at risk. Once engaged in a doctor-patient relationship, physicians are obligated to provide the best possible care for the patient by utilizing their skills and knowledge as expected from a competent physician under the same or similar conditions (“What Is a Doctor’s Duty of Care?” n.d.). However, in Tomcik’s situation, Dr. Evans did not deliver high-quality care, for he administered a perfunctory breast examination and thus did not follow standard protocols. There is evidence of indifference conveyed by Dr. Evans, and the lack of proper care towards Tomcik is an issue that can be scrutinized and judged appropriately. Additionally, Tomcik’s health was at risk due to the failure of a proper physical evaluation and the incredibly long delay in diagnosis and treatment. The negligence from Dr. Evans, along with the lack of medical attention sought out by Tomcik after she had first discovered the lump in her breast, may contribute to Tomcik’s life being in danger as well as the emotional anguish she may have felt during that time period. Overall, the incident of Tomcik’s expectations from the original physician and other employees at the institution not being met is an ethical issue that should be dealt with
There was inappropriate staffing in the Emergency Room which was a factor in the event. There was one registered nurse (RN) and one licensed practical nurse (LPN) on duty at the time of the incident. Every Wednesday I was assigned a patient to attend to by a specific nurse who was also my supervisor in a hospital setting. My instructor ensured that this nurse followed my progress in respect to the way I was to handle the patient through written report. While taking care of the patient, I recorded various changes, he/she indicates towards recovery. I reported these changes to the nurse. While participating in this activity, I was expected to follow the strict guidelines by the instructor and nurse; as required by the rules and regulations, and code of conduct in nursing.

As a very fast growing ethnicity in USA, they are estimated to be around 33.4 million Asian Americans living in this country by the year 2050(AAHI, 2005).
Volunteerism, civic engagement and advocacy are the driving forces for creating change and making a positive impact in your community and society at large. While gaining internship and job experience can lead to community impact and social change, it’s important for us to remember that before we start advocating for change and informing others about issues we care about, we need to fully understand the complexity and depth of the social, environmental, or economic issue we are passionate about.
Everyone is from different places so the diversity of the group is wide ranged. The trip allowed us to learn more about them and where they are from. At the end of the trip, we gave out our social media information and our cell phone numbers. We currently have a group chat going on and it allows us all to stay in touch. Someone will text that they are going to get something to eat, and then someone else is responds saying they will join. We laugh and make jokes with each other and we inform one another when something is going on so that everyone is aware of it. If I see someone from the trip, we always greet each other and ask how the other is doing. I see someone from the trip at least once a day by walking around campus. Everyone got along well on the trip, with no fights and no drama. I'm glad to say that it is currently still like that. The people I met on this trip are some of my good friends here at the University, and I’m happy that I was able to meet

People complain everyday about the problems in this world. One of my complaints is about people who complain! I have a high respect for those who take actions to try to solve these problems. One major group which has to solve problems this is internationally recognized is Rotary International.
A reflection of my volunteering experience can be summarized in two words: Life-changing. It is hard to explain the feelings that occur when you involve yourself in selfless acts for your community, such as volunteering. There is a feeling in your heart that you cannot ignore, maybe it is the happiness you feel or the overflow of emotions in helping others. In other words, it is a feeling in which you want to share with others. Maybe with a friend, maybe a classmate, maybe a family member, or maybe even a stranger. Either way, spreading how life-changing volunteering can be is a great start to making a positive change in your community by simply by involving others.
Tourism is affected by the stakeholders with whom the destinations are established or the areas that are attempting to attract tourists. The customer stakeholder needs to seek out destinations and packages that appeal to their desires than accepting predetermined vacation packages.
