Fast food First off all let me define fast food and obesity. What is the fast food? According to oxford dictionaries website the definition of fast food is "Food that can be prepared quickly and easily and is sold in restaurants and snack bars as a quick meal or to be taken out". The Merriam-Webster online dictionary mentions that the word fast food uses first time in 1951. Anyway, everyone have an idea about fast food, but many of us don’t know what is the fast food exactly means for doctors and scientists. It is mean obesity, diseases, bad relationship for each person in families and many other bad things and these things that I mentioned most common effect when we eating fast food. Due to new lifestyle "An earlier report by the U.S. Department of Agriculture found that the percentage of adults eating fast food increased from the early 1990s to the mid-1990s (1). Moreover, previous studies have reported that more frequent fast-food consumption is associated with higher energy and fat intake and lower intake of healthful nutrients (1,2). This report indicates that for 2007–2010, on average, adults consumed just over one-tenth of their percentage of calories from fast food, which represents a decrease from 2003–2006 when approximately 13% of calories were consumed from fast food."(Cheryl D. Fryar, 2013). So, the numbers of diseases are increase rapidly because fast food "high in fat and salt content and low in fiber and calcium"(University of Stony Brook). Each one of these contains has bad effect on our health "The high salt content of fast foods also pose many threats to the health of Americans, young and old. Salt consumption is associated with high blood pressure, strokes, and kidney function. In addition, some studies have shown that calcium competes with sodium.
