The idea that anyone can affect change in the world is very intriguing. So many people change the world daily with their decisions and who they share their ideas with. Where would the world be without those people? If Steve Jobs was never born, would there be the iPhone we know today? Without Thomas Edison, would the world have light? If Benjamin Franklin never took a kite out on a stormy day, would the world know about electricity? So many small decisions that people make can influence the way the rest of the world moves forward. Now he goes on to change everything by working against other firemen and instead doing it for himself and the books community. He changes the world by showing people that you do not have to abide by everyone else's rules and that he is no longer afraid. Faber encourages Montag to do things he never would have imagined doing. Faber is so determined to help, so he introduces the earpiece to Montag “It listens! If you put it in your ear, Montag, I can sit comfortably at home, warming my frightened bones, and hear and analyze the fireman's world, finding its weakness without danger,”(Bradbury 87). Without the earpiece, Montag may never have had the courage to face Beatty or keep going on his journey back to the house that he once called home. Faber changes Montag's world by helping him gain courage and realize what was right, aside from what the government and other firefighters told him was right.
