Artistic Expression of Caring To care and to provide care to a patient are two different things. Nurses provide care to patients based on the patient’s needs. When the nurse cares for patients, he or she, makes time to listen to the patient and patient priorities become the nurses. Genuine care requires empathy. The nurse is able to see the patients’ needs and action by the nurse follows to meet the patient where they are. We care for patients, because it is the culture of the nursing profession. The video presentation conveys how a nurse cares for a patient. This paper will define caring and the expression of caring.
Definition of Caring
We demonstrate care when we make a person’s priorities ours. We are all busy people; however, when we sincerely listen to others needs this makes the patient feel respected and valued. Both the patient and nurse who adopts a caring attitude benefit. It is necessary to care for ourselves and fill our hearts so we may care for others. The video demonstrates care in action and the paper further defines care and the expression of caring. The nurse’s attitude towards care influences how the nurse provides care.
