“What Jesus means to me personally and how I serve to him” Jesus is a person who I’m able to talk whenever I need someone to listen to me. He’s someone who is always listening whether you have something excellent or awful to say. After I have a rough day or get into an argument with someone, I take a moment and talk to Jesus. I feel like this is a great way to release my stress or angry and feel better afterwards because I know someone was listening. Lately I have struggled to attend church, however, I know that Jesus is still with me. Jesus will always be with me no matter the circumstances. I serve to Jesus every day by taking time out my day to help others. When my classmates or friends are struggling with something I try to assist them
... is that he comes to each and every person in need. When we start sinking in the storms of life, we need to cry out to the Lord and he will reach out and will bring you out of the water that has begun to drown you.
I am dedicated to helping out our community and school, because it warms my heart and soul. Seneca said in about 40 to 60 A.D. that you should “be silent as to services you have rendered, but speak of favors you have received.” In other words you should not boast about the numerous projects you have accomplished and how much physical work you executed, but rather pride yourself on how you helped people in community and school, and how you have affected their lives with positive means. I feel life is joyous and it should be the feeling everyone illustrates, and this is exactly what keeps me functioning in the stressful world today. I find comfort in helping others to make their lives a little more like heaven and this comfort motivates me to perform copious service projects to the best of my capability whenever I find the time. Time is fair to the rich, the poor, and to every race, because time is equal and gives everyone 24 hours daily to accomplish their required tasks. Because time is so valuable and I am occupied by difficult advanced placement and honor classes and juggle school, clubs, sports, and friends, I joined Key Club, a high school division of the adult service club, Kiwanis. Key Club opened new doors to make every extra minute count towards helping others.
Paul tells us in Romans 12:1 King James Version “12I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service”. (imperative) This scripture has always been a model for as I try to presentation my time, talent and service to others.
My family taught me about Jesus at a young age, so I always knew I wanted to have a close relationship with him. Knowing that God is going to have my back no matter what was the best feeling to me. He will never leave a person or turn his back on them. The fact that the Bible guides people is one of the amazing things to me because one scripture can change a person whole life. My discourse community teaches a person about faith, love, and everything a person will ever need in life. Jesus encourages people, and supports people when they fail. Being a Christian motivates me and gives me a meaning of life. Being saved is easy, but the hard part is following his guidelines. He knows people are going to make a lot of mistakes in life, but the fact that he doesn’t judge them is amazing. Accepting Christ means a person has escaped that judgment and therefore they will have external life. Being a part of this discourse community has brought me to a new place in life, and for that I am
I have done a lot of community service at Moundville Nursing Home from 2007-2014. I answered the phone and I sat with the sick patients. I helped in the kitchen and I would bring their supper to their rooms. I helped fed some of the patients because they couldn’t feed themselves. My favorite was when I volunteered for their Halloween festival. I also helped the nursing home with their trunk-a-treat on Halloween. I would go downtown with them and I would pass out candy to the sweet little kids. The whole Moundville community would come and enjoy themselves. I helped the nursing home with their Christmas parade. I helped decorate and pass out the Christmas gift. I did a great amount of community service at Jefferson Chapel CME Church. I would
How do you see him? You might have gotten some of your ideas about Jesus from childhood Sunday school stories, or from one of the plethora of “Jesus” films.
I find myself extremely passionate in Community Service, I have volunteered at Emmanuel Apostolic Church during Vacation Bible School for the past two summers, preparing food, coming up with creative ideas to keep children occupied, and making sure children are safe. During this time my leadership and conversational skills have strengthened. In addition to that, I have also volunteered there on numerous occasions to feed the homeless. In high school, I also volunteered at an Elderly home on bingo night to interact with the elderly, gave a listening ear, it was extremely rewarding to see them smile, laugh, and interact with me as if they had known me for a while; that showed me how much they appreciate having company. I take huge delight in
I learned about the importance of giving back at the age of 11yr old and putting the very important needs of others in front of my own. Volunteering in a homeless shelter at a young age opened my eyes. Where I was placed to give food, clothes, money & hygiene products to people in need. Where would I be right now without the help of God, my mother, family& friends and the church community”. Giving a helping hand to the people in the community is Something we should always do. In the ("bible Acts 20:35 says in everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the lord Jesus himself said: it is more blessed to give than to receive"). Having a compassionate heart for the community blesses the congregation.
I have always been involved in groups that perform community service projects. In fact, I was recently elected to as VP of Public Relations of the Student MOVE group. We are a group of 12 individuals that are the advisory committee for all of the community service organizations on campus, but we organize many alternative activities and events. I even did a service learning project for my Spanish class last semester with Cynthia Wells. I attended the Spanish mass every Sunday, and I was a greeter. I learned their culture and rituals while still attending the usual Catholic Mass.
Throughout the years, Jesus has been my rock. No matter what is happening in life, I have always been able to rely on Christ. Jesus gives peace in the midst of any situation. I have confidence that in any situation, Christ will provide for all my needs. My relationship with Jesus has given me hope for the future. I don’t have to live in fear, because I believe with all my heart that he has everything under control. The peace and comfort Jesus provides has been the biggest change since the moment that I began to follow Christ. These are aspects that were not evident in my life before becoming a Christ follower. These attributes that Jesus provides have influenced my actions and attitude in a countless amount of
Jesus is the head of the church and he is the reason why we care and provide counseling. It is his command and passion to care. He can offer the rest (Matt. 11:28-30), guidance and protection because he is the good shepherd. (Ps. 23, Jn. 10:11) We serve in the God’s household, which is the church of loving God, the pillar and foundation of the truth. (1 Tim. 3:15) We rely on the law of the Lord, which is perfect and refreshing the souls. (Ps. 19:7) God is the one truth source for the sorrow souls. For him, he is the father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles. (2 Co. 1:3)
Jesus was raised in Nazareth in the home of Joseph, a carpenter, and his wife Mary. Jesus most likely went to school in a room attached to the synagogue. He
God helps me meet all my needs. A great activity offered by my school, Ridgeview Middle School, is bible club. First, the bible is full of inspirational verses that are helpful to me and others. Second, bible club gives you a positive outlook on life, when you also get to socialize with motivating and positive people. Last, bible club is exciting with the joy of unexpected field trips to the Nursing Home and the excitement of helping others through a daily basis. Bible club is like a gift, only some will accept it. A relationship with God is like no other! As can be seen, bible club is not only my favorite, but others too.
Without missions and service in my life, I would not be the person I am today. The summer before my freshman year, I traveled on my first mission trip. My youth group and I went to New Orleans to help with the continuation of providing relief for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Not only did this trip put me outside of my comfort zone, I also discovered my passion for service. Since my trip to New Orleans, I have contributed a lot of my time to the service of others. I have assisted with building a deck in West Virginia, helped at a daycare center in Philadelphia, was a junior counselor at a middle school camp, and this past summer I went to the Dominican Republic to mentor teenagers. Locally, my church has a monthly soup kitchen where I volunteer.
Jesus Christ is a different figure and idea for many individuals. Many people think of him as something to believe in, many people don 't believe in him, and many people only believe in him when they need guidance.I believe that Jesus saved us all from our sins and death. He is the reason we can confess our sins and still be forgiven for them. He is someone that people can talk to, pray with, get things of their chest too, and to restart on a clean slate. Jesus is important to me because he is the son of God, loving and gave us the gift of forgiveness.
