The six key planning considerations are as follows: environmental considerations, mission assurance, Force protection, operations, communication synchronization, and facility requirements. To elaborate on environmental considerations, Responders must be cognizant of preservation areas. For instance, DOD officials should limit the use of equipment/tools that could interfere with protected habitats or vegetation, whether it is through toxic emissions or simple disturbances. Thus, the inclusion of preservation areas is a vital step in the planning phase (i.e., identifying and incorporating vital natural landmarks and species prior to an incident). Mission Assurance requires the leaders at the Tactical level (Squadron) to identify mission-desired …show more content…
The DOD is best equipped to fulfill a communication lapse in a non-permissive environment. Thus, the DOD should be the leader in establishing alternate methods of disseminating information in degraded environments, providing the necessary capabilities to their civil counterparts, and providing the instructions to maintain such systems. I agree with Shutts, the DOD may be reluctant to open its gates immediately to the public when it could jeopardize high-value targets located within. However, depending on your location and what DOD facility is in your area, the DOD could provide critical equipment in the event of a catastrophic event. This includes temporary living facilities and ROPU machines (purify water sources by reverse osmosis). One planning consideration could be to establish local agreements that utilize assets already operating in your area to provide support during their local training missions. For instance, the DOD can give you Airborne Command and Control for the strategic use of rescue forces and positioning air assets, which I have seen first hand during a training mission. Of course, the asset would have to receive permission to extend services beyond their allotted station time, but establishing a plan before in an event is a way to expedite a request for a specific support
Effective planning is impossible without first understanding the problem. Commanders rely on personal observations, experiences, and input from others to develop understanding. They also prioritize information requests and incorporate additional information as those requests are answered. A complete understanding of the problem and environment builds the foundation for the operational process and ...
Unified Land Operations defines the army operational design methodology (ADM) as “a methodology for applying critical and creative thinking to understand, visualize, and describe unfamiliar problems and approaches to solving them. The operational design methodology incorporated into army doctrine serves as a method to compliment the military decision making process (MDMP). Although the ADM it is often confused with replacing MDMP, its purpose is to address complex problems from a nonlinear approach. ADM helps the commander to answer questions to problems. However, only a collaborative effort of an operation planning team (OPT) will achieve the approach to answering complex problems. Doctrine alone does not provide the answer to complex problems, but rather offers a guide to solve them. To conceptualize the MDMP, planners must incorporate ADM to provide a better understanding, visualization, and description of the problem. The purpose of this paper is to provide the framework to support why ADM is required in the MDMP.
We need to preserve natural resources, like water, trees, and headwaters in the Oak Ridges Moraine because they are vital to our everyday living.
After analyzing the Coastal Medical Center, it is apparent that the employees and staff have no conception of the mission, vision, and values of this health care facility. In addition to this lack of structure, CMC has many projects in the midst of production that lack support of a common goal, employees are unsatisfied with their jobs, the two boards lack ability to agree on strategic decisions for the organization,, and the medical center has a dismal reputation when it comes to quality care.

ADM offers Commanders and planning staff a tool for the conceptual component of an integrated planning process. The goal is to provide the commander with a cognitive tool that he can use to understand the logic of the system. Design is non-linear in thought and application. Its methodology clari¬fies guidance in the consideration of operational environment, and the current system is understood within existing limitations. The design team pro¬duces an environmental frame, an initial problem statement, and an initial theory of action. As the teams’ understanding increases and the nature of the problem begins to take form, the team explores in greater detail aspects of the environment that appear relevant to the problem. Here choices are made about boundaries and areas for possible inter¬vention. From this deeper understanding, the des...
Factors such as lost or damage of lives, property, financial districts, and necessary needs are considered in which determines the hazards that pose the most threat to specific location.
The most effective commanders through their leadership build cohesive teams. Mutual trust, shared understanding, and accepting prudent risk serve as just a few principles for mission command. Mutual trust is the foundation of any successful professional relationship that a commander shares with his staff and subordinates. The shared understanding of an operational environment functions, as the basis for the commander to effectively accomplish the mission. While my advice for the commander on what prudent risks to take may create more opportunities rather than accepting defeat. Incorporating the principles of mission command by building cohesive teams through mutual trust, fostering an environment of shared understanding, and accepting prudent risk will make me an effective adviser to the commander, aid the staff during the operations process, and provide an example for Soldiers to emulate.
Environment is another significant factor that affects the strategic plan. When a major environmental disaster occurs, such as a hurricane, it can affect a company’s production facilities, their sales facilities and the community that the company serves.
This report provides an analysis and evaluation of strategy implementation used by California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) and discusses the effectiveness of their strategy through organization design, control systems, people and culture. My research concluded that CPK relies on control systems to undertake a majority of the company’s operational activities and that human resources and organizational culture must support the strategy implemented, which it does in in the case of CPK.
Planning can be used to help the organization map out a way to efficiently achieve their goals. The beginning of the planning process should include analyzing of the current situation. From this information the company can determine the goals and start to outline the steps that need to be taken to ensure that the goal will be met. Other planning activities that should be completed are determining the company’s objectives and were they want to be in the future. This will help them to choose their business objectives and strategies. In addition, the company should look at the resources that they have available and determine if they are sufficient to achieve the organizations goals.
Communication is critical to any organization and is necessary in every aspect especially in a military. Communication plays a role in Soldier development, peer to peer relations, Chain of command management, and virtually every aspect of a military operations. Commanders require it the most so that they can execute large scale operations without flaw and that alone requires ceaseless effective communication. If soldiers are informed and engaged, communications with other units are likely to be robust as well.
Strategic planning is an organizational process in which it looks towards developing and sustaining success or balance in its ever changing environment.
Therefore, the content and structure of the management plan is largely dependent on the nature of the site. It is also shaped by the management system within which it is developed and the resources available for its framing and scope. As stated in the Operational Guidelines for the Implementation of the World Heritage Convention: ‘an effective management system depends on the type, characteristic and needs of the nominated property and its cultural and natural context. Management systems may vary according to different cultural perspectives, the resources available and other
