A lot of society travels to exotic lands because they want to see and experience the different cultures as well as get away from stress and everyday life. Today, many people travel to this exotic island, Bora Bora to relax on the magnificent white beaches and to stay in the admirable huts that are on the crystal clear waters. According to the U.S Travel Association, about 2.2 billion Americans took a vacation in 2016 seeking for the thrill and experience of exploring new things (Irimia and Gottschling ). The island of Bora Bora is south west of the United States. It is only about 2,600 miles from Hawaii and sought to be the most beautiful island on the planet. Although the volcanic pasts of the island, there is an abundance of vegetation that the Bora Bora's have taken such pride in to take care of and help restore (Richardson). The island is covered with tropical flowers and trees as well as coconut plantations, orange trees, and vanilla plants. The islanders use many native fruits grown on the island as a source of diet (“Take”). While on the island, visitors can have many opportunities to interact with the wildlife. Sea turtles, dolphins, and humpback whales are the main attraction of sea life as well as manta rays. Deep- sea fishing is also another main interest with an abundance of exotic fish life only being able to be seen from Bora Bora
One portion of that is the different foods. While in Bora Bora, travelers get a traditional cuisine which is influenced by “South Pacific cooking mixed with French, Italian, and Japanese” (“Bora”). The food is cooked in a very different style called a “pit oven”. This is done by digging a hole into the ground and placing hot stones below to heat and cook the food. Another traditional way for the food to be cooked in Bora Bora is to wrap the food in banana leaves and “ cover the food by dirt, then bake for several hours.”, also known as “Ahimaa” (“Take”). Fish, chicken, and pork are the main protein sources in Bora Bora. Many of the cousins also include sweet potatoes, rice, papaya, pineapples, and coconuts (“Take”). Since the tropical island is secluded and by the equator, it has very warm summer days. The Polynesians break the climate into “wet and dry seasons”. According to “Take” the wet season is November through April with a lot of rain and clouds. November through April is considered the offseason for Bora Bora, though many people like to go there because there are fewer crowds. The dry season, May through October is the perfect weather for visitors (“Bora”). The average temperature for a day is 80 degrees Fahrenheit with a light breeze that is constant
No matter how they are told or expressed, most dystopian stories have several similar assets. They are usually made to be unique, however there are usually numerous links between them. The book Brave New World and the film “The Island” are prime examples of this statement. A few similarities include the actions of hypnopaedia, forbidden love and affection, and un-natural births.
What are some of the native foods, and/or dishes that are special from their homeland?
Over twelve million immigrants entered the United States from 1892 to 1954 through Ellis Island, a small island in New York Harbor. Haiti as a rich history, filled with many peoples’ blood and countless hopes of freedom. With such a rich history, the country has yet to become financially stable because of their past. From the beginning of the French settlement where slaves were brought over from Africa to harvest crops, to the dictatorship of the Duvalier family. Haiti has yet to see a time when they are not in need of help. After the racial caste systems were set in place, many people would not see a truly independent country. When France finally gave independence to Haiti, they did it for a price. After they paid that price, the US occupied them because of their location and many resources. Every year in Haiti’s history as a nation and before has effects on the world today. These effects are not hidden in fine print, but blatantly found within Haiti and those who have been involved with Haiti.
The weight of the desolation immediately clung onto my shoulders as I stepped off the F3 Parramatta River Ferry. Remnants of shipyards and timeworn buildings are rooted into the ground as if the Indigenous had never occupied a speck of this island. The decaying atmosphere can be perceived through the moss that stretched over the steep cliffs, emphasising how this historical landmark has weathered the age of time.
Standing on the balcony, I gazed at the darkened and starry sky above. Silence surrounded me as I took a glimpse at the deserted park before me. Memories bombarded my mind. As a young girl, the park was my favourite place to go. One cold winter’s night just like tonight as I looked upon the dark sky, I had decided to go for a walk. Wrapped up in my elegant scarlet red winter coat with gleaming black buttons descending down the front keeping away the winter chill. Wearing thick leggings as black as coal, leather boots lined with fur which kept my feet cozy.
Let’s begin with the location of Barbados. Barbados is an Island of a cluster of Caribbean Islands. Its location is on the boundary of the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, in a somewhat strange location, if you may. Closest to the Island are the nations Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Barbados was named by Pedro A. Campos, a Portuguese explorer, who originally named the Island “Os Barbados’ (The Bearded Ones) because he believed that the islands fig trees looked like beards due to their drooping aerial roots. The capital of Barbados is Bridgetown.

More than 2,500 years prior, a legend first started to spread around a general public of the past that reveled in a richness of character assets, extraordinary military influence, amazing building and designing deeds, and intelligent accomplishments far developed over those of different grounds. But one of the most memorable vacations I have experienced was with my cousins. I went to goa beach. Most of you probably don’t know about that beach but it is a very famous one in south India. I enjoyed myself to the fullest. The beach environment was enlightening. I would not have wanted to take this trip with anyone other than my cousins. We had a great time on the ocean sands and swimming in the ocean everyday made this vacation unforgettable.
