This is about social inequality in the book “To kill a mockingbird”. The book is set in alabama during the 1930. The main character are Scout, Jem, Dill, Atticus, and Calpurnia. The plot was about who was Boo Radley and how to get him out of his house. Later it becomes about a man named Tom Robinson and him being tried for rape. Now let us get into the three main topics in social inequality Race, gender, and financial.

We are going to start of with Tom’s case which covers racism.Tom is a young african american and only has one working arm is being roughly accused of raping a girl named mayella. Before the court case he was being held in the county jail. Later a group of drunk man try to take the law into their own hands but Atticus, Scout, and jem were there to stop them. The thing that make him seem like he’s going to win are Mayella punch in the left eye and tom’s doesn’t have a working left hand and how different the two stories are very different. In the end he was found guilty even though everything was going his way. I think the court said he was guilty and here is why I say that.
