Romanticism in Shelley’s novel Frankenstein
Shelley was a romantic and associated with other romantics. She demonstrates many of these ideas are in her novel Frankenstein. In this novel Shelley shows the beauty of nature, the warnings of scientific advancement, imagination, one's pure emotions, and their love and compassion, to represent the beliefs of romanticism.

Showing true emotion is an important aspect of romanticism. Anytime the monster goes out to find a friend or a partner, he is chased away because of his horrifying appearance and his huge size. Shelly then obtains from the reader sympathetic reaction for something that looks so misunderstood. The monster wants a companion, someone to love, someone to share his feelings with.
