Artificial Intelligence (AI) is an electronic mind. Movies have portrayed the vision of a computerized entity, most of which had devious intentions towards the human race. These have really no basis in reality when it comes to examples of artificial intelligence.
Many devices, things previously viewed as examples of artificial intelligence, are now viewed as little more than universal advances in technology. Even the system that checks for spelling errors on emails and text messages is a simple form of AI. Here is an overview of examples of artificial intelligence, including software, systems and robots.
What is Artificial Intelligence
The primary goal of artificial intelligence is to analyze a sequence of data and present a solution to

There are software programs that produce answers, or analyze data based on programmed algorithms. Systems are in place that use voice recognition to lock doors, adjust thermostats, turn on and off lights, and a number of other human actions.
These are all examples of artificial intelligence, but now most of the focus is towards robotics. Robots are one of the many artificial intelligence examples, which everyone recognizes. Software, computerized systems and robots, are becoming prevalent at the office, in the manufacturing industry and especially as part of the medical field.
Artificial Intelligence Software
Software that has the ability to perform functions that exhibit intelligent behavior is an example of artificial intelligence software. Smart phone assistants such as Siri and Cortona are examples of artificial intelligence that people around the world use millions of times each day. Like many of the talking robotic systems from fantastic tales of the scientific world, today these examples of artificial intelligence are commonplace

There have been fascinating breakthroughs in the ability to detect and correctly analyze disease. Robotic artificial intelligence is at the threshold of potentially advanced treatment methods for cancer and other sicknesses.
Artificial intelligence in medicine would provide medical professionals with a method of guaranteed analysis across different stages of disease development. There are robots already in operation that sew sutures and close surgical wounds with perfection. The mechanical hands performing the skill are a fraction of the size of a human finger, helping to remove the potential for mistakes.
Artificial intelligence has been portrayed as everything from a controlling computer mind, to a devious android type creature pent on destructive termination of human live forms. In reality, it is a science with limitless potential to advance mankind. Various software applications help businesses and there are AI systems that can perform an assortment of tasks interpreting voice
Regarding artificial intelligence in fiction, whether it is in books or movies, one of the greatest and most popular examples is the HAL 9000. The fiction character HAL 9000 is a heuristically programmed algorithmic computer and stars in the 1968 classic 2001: A Space Odyssey. In fact, the HAL 9000 just may be the most “true to life” or realistic artificial intelligent computer in all of fiction. Some may argue that this character is a good example of “Strong AI”, or strong artificial intelligence, which refers to the hypothesis that computers can potentially be programmed to be capable of thought due to the idea that the human mind is simply no more than a computational device itself. This fictional character is most certainly an example of “Strong AI” because the character HAL 9000 not only shows signs of self-awareness but also is capable of true reasoning.
The field of medical robotics is a relatively new area. The first known documented utilization of robotics in the medical field occurred in the year 1985. A robot aided in placing a needle in the correct position for a biopsy of a patient's brain. Although there is still much to explore and discover in the area of medical robotics, the advances steadily increase at a fast pace. Historically, robots have often been first introduced to automate or ameliorate discrete processes, such as painting a car or placing test probes on electronic circuits, but their greatest economic influence has often come indirectly as essential enablers of computer-integration of entire production or accommodation processes.
Every day we get closer and closer to building an artificial intelligence. Although it some think that it would be amazing to create an artificial intelligence but it would also be scary to create it. We don't know what they would be capable of. Two examples of why we should be careful and worried of creating this is the book Frankenstein and the movie Blade Runner. Where in one he creates a monster from dead body parts and the other where he create replicants.
Artificial intelligence has come a long way since the first robot. In 1950, Alan Turing of Britain publishes, Computer Machinery and Intelligence. This book was proposed to be the birth of artificial intelligence as we know it. The first robot that presents the usage of artificial intelligence was built in 1969. The purpose of this robot was to try out navigation using basic tools such as cameras and bump sensors (Marshall 371). Since then, we have made a million robots way better than this one and we’re going to continue doing so. While the world advances, so is technology. It’s slowly progressing and become better and more reliable. Artificial intelligence is a certain type of technology that is resourceful to our nation. We are using it in the medical field, it’s been helpful to military forces, and it’s helping our world become a better place.
To begin, the main issue of development of Artificial Intelligence is the economic factors. Firstly, one of the main negative effects of AI on economy is unemployment. According to the suggesting of Carl Benedikt Frey and Michael A. Osborne of Oxford University during next 20 years 47 per cent of all USA jobs under the threat and will be replaced with intelligence machines (Vincent). If jobs will be automated, people will lose their workplaces and it is becomes one of the harmful problems not only for economy, but also for society. Because, if people will not have a workplace, they will not be able to provide their needs. Furthermore, development of AI can be a reason of increasing inequality of wages. For instance, the salaries of computer workers approximately earn 10 to 15 percent more than others. (Frey and Osborne). It is also one of the economic problems because it can lead to discontent of workers who hav...
As our research into science and technology ever increases its seems inevitable that in the near future Artificial Intelligent machines will exist and become part of our everyday life such as we see with modern computers today.
It should be noted that A.I. does not refer to robots, for the robots are simply a manifestation of A.I. Artificial Intelligence actually refers to the minds of these robots. A.I. is the thinking capacity of machines, and not the machine itself, for the A.I. is infused into the machine.
Imagine asking your computer to do something in the same way you would ask a friend to do it. Without having to memorize special commands that only it could understand. For computer scientists this has been an ambitious goal; that can further simplify computers. Artificial Intelligence, a system that can mimic human intelligence by performing task that usually only a human can do, usually has to use a form of natural language processing. Natural language processing, a sub-field of computer science and artificial intelligence, concerns the successfully interaction between a computer and a human. Currently one of the best examples of A.I.(Artificial Intelligence) is IBM 's Watson. A machine that gained popularity after appearing on the show
A modern example would include speech recognition within cellular devices. Skype has also produced intelligence that can translate speech in record time. Other examples include self-driving cars, programs that can identify objects in videos, and robotic canines that can imitate life-like behavior from a real dog. There has been an exponential spike in the capability of computer systems and the demand for professionals who can make self-identifying and operating robotics conceivable. The boundaries between science and science fiction are being presented in front of societies’ eyes. As much as society thinks the technology is not prevalent today, the capability and prototypes are present.
When most people think of artificial intelligence they might think of a scene from I, Robot or from 2001: A Space Odyssey. They might think of robots that highly resemble humans start a revolution against humanity and suddenly, because of man’s creation, man is no longer the pinnacle of earth’s hierarchy of creatures. For this reason, it might scare people when I say that we already utilize artificial intelligence in every day society. While it might not be robots fighting to win their freedom to live, or a defense system that decides humanity is the greatest threat to the world, artificial intelligence already plays a big role in how business is conducted today.
The most famous of these inventions are robots and artificial intelligence (AI). These inventions appear in ‘2001: A space odyssey’, ‘Blade Runner’, ‘The Terminator’,
Artificial Intelligence is the scientific theory to advance the scientific understanding of the mechanisms underlying thought and intelligent behavior and their embodiment in machines. This is going to hold the key in the future. It has always fa...
Artificial intelligence is a concept that has been around for many years. The ancient Greeks had tales of robots, and the Chinese and Egyptian engineers made automations. However, the idea of actually trying to create a machine to perform useful reasoning could have begun with Ramon Llull in 1300 CE. After this came Gottfried Leibniz with his Calculus ratiocinator who extended the idea of the calculating machine. It was made to execute operations on ideas rather than numbers. The study of mathematical logic brought the world to Alan Turing’s theory of computation. In that, Alan stated that a machine, by changing between symbols such as “0” and “1” would be able to imitate any possible act of mathematical
Recently, the media has spent an increasing amount of broadcast time on new technology. The focus of high-tech media has been aimed at the flurry of advances concerning artificial intelligence (AI). What is artificial intelligence and what is the media talking about? Are these technologies beneficial to our society or potential threats? Medical facilities, police departments, and manufacturing plants have all been changed by AI. Will machine language and artificial neural network replace humans in the future?
Artificial Intelligence “is the ability of a human-made machine to emulate or simulate human methods for the deductive and inductive acquisition and application of knowledge and reason” (Bock, 182). The early years of artificial intelligence were seen through robots as they exemplified the advances and potential, while today AI has been integrated society through technology. The beginning of the thought of artificial intelligence happened concurrently with the rise of computers and the dotcom boom. For many, the utilization of computers in the world was the most advanced role they could ever see machines taking. However, life has drastically changed from the 1950s. This essay will explore the history of artificial intelligence, discuss the
