Animal Farm is an allegory because Orwell imputes and hints that “Animalism” is actually communism. Napoleon the pig has a lust for power and will do anything to have complete power over the citizens of Animal Farm. Through the text, he slowly but aggressively transforms into a more harsh Mr. Jones.

Reading the selection, I was able to conclude that a mean farmer (Mr. Jones) had been overrun by his rebellious farm animals. The animals collectively agreed to create an environment where all the animals lived together peacefully and have no human control over them. This environment was called Animal Farm. Though this was a difficult adjustment, the animals were strong. “And yet the animals never gave up home. The Animal Farm stayed in that realm for a while, but soon corruption and communistic leadership begins to take control. Napoleon expands his power quickly and makes the other pigs and himself the leaders. Napoleon becomes hostile and violent towards the citizens of Animal Farm which bolts fear in all. Napoleon even demolishes the Seven Commandments that all creatures big and small had to obey in Animal Farm. Instead, Napoleon puts “All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.”. His other pigs and him declare themselves as partners and allies with human farmers. They continue to take on qualities of the former human oppressors.
