After high school I would like to major in Cosmetology. It is very appealing to me when I am getting my nails done. Another part of Cosmetology I dream to become is, cutting and styling hair. I have watched my mom get her hair cut and have also watched my grandma cut my own hair as well. I have practiced while cutting my mom's hair and also gave my sisters bangs. I want to love what I do and I have a strong interest in this career. My dad has a best-friend, who has a sister that manages her own salon. Over the summer of 2015, I volunteered at Great Clips (her salon) and got to watch the employees cut and style hair. I was also a hosts; I scheduled appointments for people and cleaned around the hair stations after a fresh cut. The women

As young child we are all asked what we would like to be when we grow up. Usually the answer is a firefighter, a policeman, or nurse. When I was a child I changed my mind multiple times. At first I wanted to be Minnie Mouse, then a dancer. Then, about two years ago, I wanted to be a crime scene investigator. I had all my plans worked out. I was going to attend the University of Memphis and major in criminal justice. However, one day about a year ago, my mind totally changed. I decided to go in the complete opposite direction. I decided that I wanted to be a cosmetologist.
How does math influence the life of cosmetologists? Cosmetology is the study and professional skill or practice of the face, hair, skin, and nails. Cosmetology employs personal appearance workers including hairstylist, shampooers, barbers, cosmetologist and many more. Math relate to Cosmetology because of running an Cosmetology business, barbering, coloring, hair cutting, sectioning, braiding the hair, makeup and many more. Furthermore, cosmetologists must understand fractions and percentages when using equipment and when mixing coloring products. Hair clippers have various length attachments that are measured in fractions of an inch. So, if a stylist did not know that 1/8 of an inch is smaller than 1/6, then he would pick the wrong attachment
The career I have chosen for my future is to become a registered dental hygienist. It wasn’t until I actually learned what dental hygienists do that influenced my interest from medical to dentistry. The first honest reason I was gravitated to dental hygiene was because of the salary. I didn’t really know what Dental Hygienist actually did until I did some research.
My career goals as a cosmetologist are to bring quality service to my clients. Helping them feel their best selves, both inward and outward. I plan to work in a salon as a hairstylist/colorist, always learning and advancing my art.
Do you know what you want to do when you graduate from high school? For me that’s an easy question to answer. I want to go to college to become a Dental Hygienist. By becoming a dental hygienist I will accommodate a good amount of pay to support myself and my future family. Becoming a hygienist is most likely the best choice for me because I have always been interested in teeth and one of my main priorities is my oral hygiene. But also, I have been told that I am really good at making people feel more comfortable and helping them relax. Therefore I have come to the conclusion that dental hygiene is the job for me.

Every since I was a child I have had a passion for doing other people’s hair. When I was little I would use my baby dolls as clients and work on their hair until it was perfect and neat. I have chosen to be in the cosmetology field because I like to help other people with their needs and wants as well as mine. I am aware that while working in this industry I will work with many different ethnic groups and many different hair types. I feel I can do anything as long as I have the determination to do so. Many people go to cosmetology school to work for someone else, but I would like to open up a mini-salon out of my own home someday.
I want to be a nurse, specifically a nurse practitioner. I have always been fascinated with the medical field and see a bright future in it for me. The profession that I want to pursue is a High School Athletic Director. Growing up, I have always had a love and passion for sports and why not get a job involving something that you love. I grew up watching sports such as basketball, football, baseball, track and field, and soccer with my dad and he taught me the rules of the games and how to be successful in each sport. I played basketball and soccer growing up and in high school I became captains of my teams and enjoyed every moment of it. As a captain and leader on my teams, I had to be a coach on the floor, make sure that my teammates were in best position on the floor to be most successful, and hold them accountable if they were in the wrong on the court. My dad was also a basketball coach on some of my teams that won championships so I had a great mentor on what it takes to be a coach and lead teams to victory. He is a huge inspiration of why I want to become an athletic director. Sports has been a huge part of my life and really what makes me most happy to be involved with. As a result, I believe that I could ultimately be a great athletic director after becoming a coach first and I would enjoy this profession
