Straying away from life as a whole only to be alone, some may say is the strong way to heal themselves when dealing with extreme grief or a major crisis . In the book Wild, twenty-two year old Cheryl Strayed thought she had lost it all. Dealing with the loss of her mother, her family torn to pieces, and her very own marriage was being destroyed right before her very eyes. Living life with nothing more to lose, lifeless, she made the most life changing decision of her life. Strayed never seems remorseful on her decisions to up and leave everything behind while deciding to flee from it all. This being her way of dealing with life, it shows her as being strong; a woman of great strength and character. She shows personal strength, which is more than just a physical word. It is a word of very high value and can only be defined by searching deep within your very own soul.
“Goodbye to all that” is a captivating story of young women and the journey she takes to identify who she is. Through the expressive writing by Joan Didion, the emotions in this text are truly tangible. Didion writes from her own experience as a young writer living her dream of being in New York City. Throughout her story there is miscommunication and through each obstacle, she grows as a person, learns what priorities are important, and overall she finds herself. I find this very appealing because everyone can relate to a life changing experience and reflect on how it changed you.
In life all humanity faces a struggle or heartbreak that seems almost impossible to make it through. In the poem Everybody Has a Heartache the author Joy Harjo discusses and introduces the opinion that everyone faces a heartache or blues. The author goes into detail about the different kinds of heartbreak that goes on in a variety of peoples’ everyday life. This poem was very interesting to me because the author chose very diverse and out of the normal heartbreaks for her characters to face rather than the normal heartbreaks that everyone can see. The author used several literary devices to establish an emotional connection with the readers.

In life, people have to depend on themselves, no matter what the circumstances may be the greatest tool an individual will ever need in life is self-reliance; the willingness to do things without the aid of others. Friends and family will not always be there in times of need and whatever troubles or worries that pledge plagues one's life will remain if not dealt with. Within the novel Everyone Leaves, by Wendy Guerra, the main protagonist Nieve learns that an individual is stronger when they rely on themselves rather than others to fix their problems. This novel follows the life of Nieve, a Cuban girl that (who )lives in the rising power of communism during the 70s and 80s. Her diaries expand from all the stages of her life from childhood to
Death is inevitable; if you want happiness in life, try A. Margaret Atwood, the author of “Happy Endings,” uses six separate short stories to depict outcomes with different scenarios. The author practices the use of flash fiction, which adds to the entirety of each version. Though this short story has portions of unusual context, the content can teach a reflection on life. As the reader analyzes all six versions, the gender roles are evident as the story progresses. Atwood starts the short story by introducing the two main characters, John and Mary, and then proceeds to tell a variety of options as to who they are and what happens to them.

In my first paragraph I will be talking about the relationship of Mister Salgado and Nili. Mister Salgado and Nili’s relationship went across or broke boundaries at the social context, because they were from different religion which was unaccepted at that time. Nili was a Christian it is indicated when she says” a Christmas party” this indicate that she is a Christian because it is only Christians who celebrate Christmas. Mister Salgado is a Buddhist. When the fell in love mister Salgado becomes more relaxed and calm he even forgets about the Carol Reef project. The moving in of Nili in the house brought joy and happiness even in Mister Slagado’s life. Their relationship in some way involved Triton, because now Nili and Triton were getting along. That is why Triton felt like they were a family. However later on mister Salgado and Nili’s separate, because mister Salgado suspects that Nili is cheating on him with Robert. This is in context with the country been colonized by the Americans. This follows their intense quarrel, were mister Salgado is subjected to Nili’s whispering swearing when they were coming back from the party. This period is similar to the political turmoil which surrounds them. It indicates a spoilt paradise. Where people of different religion do not see eye to eye, due to a fail...
