Eulogy for Father
On behalf of my family, I want to thank you all for joining us here today to celebrate John’s long and amazingly fruitful life—a life of love extended, commitments kept, and faith observed.
John was born in Boscobel, and lived the vast majority of his life in this town. This church is the only church where this ceremony could have been held, and you, his family and friends, are all that he would have asked for today.
John was a responsible, loving son to his parents, and played a large and loving role in the lives of his Aunt Catherine, his sister Mary and her family, and his sister-in-law Patricia and her family.
Lt. John B, U.S. Navy, served his country overseas in time of war, acting as executive officer of an amphibious ship in the Pacific Campaign of World War II, and in time of peace, helping fellow sailors transition to civilian life during his tour of duty in the Pentagon’s Navy Annex following that conflict. As a veteran of foreign wars, he belonged to and actively participated in the American Legion throughout the rest of his days. And he was immensely proud of his three grandsons, one of whom couldn’t be here today, who likewise chose to serve this nation through military service.
John was married to Colleen for well over half a century. This loving union yielded nine children, two of which did not survive early childhood. These losses were great blows to this young couple, but in acts of deep faith and supreme optimism, they went on to have six more children, raising seven in all to successful adult lives. Those seven, in turn, are responsible for 12 grandchildren—and at least one granddaughter to be named later.
John was a lawyer, an attorney-at-law, for well over four decades. He...

...ou, this man’s life raised few waves, yet somehow generated an enormous wake.
His was a life worth emulating: a life of great faith and generosity, a life of service to others, a life of simple joys. Our father couldn’t walk down a street without whistling, couldn’t pass a stranger without saying hello, couldn’t see a need without reaching into his pocket.
My Dad will always remain to me the man I hope someday to become.
My wife tells a story about hiding Easter eggs with Dad at some community event many years ago. He followed her around, constantly fussing over every single placement, carefully laying quarters in each. Then, as their task neared completion, he stuffed a host of extra eggs in the pockets of his sweater, telling her that these were for the kids who wouldn’t be able to find any on their own.
That’s the world John saw.
This was his life.
John is a cowboy and as with all cowboys, their lives all revolve around the horse. While he is at home at his grandfath...
During Gacy's late teens, he suffered some turmoil with his father, although the relations with his mother and sisters remained very strong. John's father was an abusive alcoholic, who physically harmed his wife and verbally abused the children. Although, John, Sr. was an unpleasant individual, young Gacy deeply loved his father, and desperately wanted to gain his attention and devotion. Unfortunately, he was unable to get close to his father before he passed away. This was something that bothered John, Jr. for the rest of his life.
On behalf of my entire family, I want to thank all of you for your compassion and for being present here today. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Mauri-Lynne, and I'm Lionel's daughter. Dad was devoted to every one of you. We all hope that you'll share your memories of him with us, if not today then in the weeks and months to come.
In reconciliation, my grandfather August Baier can be accredited the deed of planting the base of our family in which we grow and prosper today. As Russell M. Nielson once said, “When our hearts turn towards to our ancestors, something changes inside of us.” My grandfather August Baier, although in existence nearly 30 years ago, truly has an impact on me today. With every shadow, there is light. With every tear, there is a smile. Even though my grandfather is passed, with death I know there is still life, of which our family is today.
The main character tells us that she has a nice family that consists of her husband John and a little baby, but John does unusual things that someone would not expect in a normal marriage. She says, “John laughs at me, of course, but one expects that in marriage.” (Gilman 647). Men back then did not treat or think highly of women due to men being more superior than them. John also seems to complain
The first definition of nursing informatics was published by the American Nurses Association in 1994. Nursing Informatics is the specialty that integrates nursing science, computer science, and information science in identifying, collecting, processing, and managing data and information to support nursing practice, administration, education, research, and the expansion of nursing knowledge (Murphy, 2010). The term nursing informatics has greatly changed since the 1970’s and has evolved ever since. Today, nursing informatics is defined as the science and practice that integrates nursing, its information and knowledge, with management of information and communication technologies that promote the health of ...
John Wright the head of the household was considered to be a kind natured man, but his motive was to neglect his wife’s happiness. He paid little to no attention to her and prevented her from singing which was the only thing she had interest in. Mr. Wright might look like a good guy but his intentions were evil when it came to his relationship with his wife. Minnie Wright used to live her life happily by spending time at the local choir singing, but after she married John Wright, her life took a swing and she found herself forlorn.
As we enter the era of technological advances in the healthcare system, nursing informatics has become an essential element in the practice of nursing, and according to the American Nursing Association (2008), the managing of date, information, knowledge and wisdom are relevant to nursing. Thanks to health information technology (HIT), which has a wide-range of tools for improving care quality, there has been a reduction in care disparities, and improvements in care outcomes, including patient and family experience. In Addition, the advances in communication and information sharing has made HIT, a critical instrument for addressing the threats to safety and quality during care transitions, since every nursing action relies on knowledge based

Nurses are considered the backbone of the hospital due to their hours of hard work and determination to help patients. Being a nurse is a great opportunity for people to show the world what they can do and to put themselves out there to make a difference. A nursing career can help you to become more confident in yourself. There are many types of nurses but we will be focusing on Registered Nurses(RN) because RN’s are the main connection between the doctors and the patients. Registered Nurses have long hours, many daily duties, and even influence the other nurses by guiding them in their career. However, they are rewarded with a good salary, and the thought knowing that they saved lives that day.
Technology is stated as the scientific method and material used to achieve a commercial or industrial objective. To go one step further, nursing technology is using a tool to advance nursing practice. “The Institute of medicine identified that technology as a viable method of enhancing patient care delivery and improving staff productivity” Sensmeier, Horowitz (2003 page). Because inadequate nursing staff causes shortcuts to be taken, there are mistakes made that could have possibly been prevented. Errors by nursing staff were variously reported as being responsible for between 44,000 and 98,000 hospital deaths per year. Sensmeier, Horowitz (2003). Technology can have a large impact on nursing. In the past 5 to 10 years, computerized patient records have increased less than 10%. This number shows us that we are still not embracing technology to its full potential. Today in most hospital systems computerized electronic charting is being used. Many hospitals have many different systems for...
When St. John is first introduced in the book, he finds Jane completely destitute with nowhere to go and no one to rely on for help. Despite her refusal to reveal her true identity, St. John takes Jane in to live with him and his two sisters, Diana and Mary. Once she has been nursed to health, St. John gives Jane a job as a school teacher at a girls school as well as a small cottage in which to live (339). At this point in the novel, word reaches the Rivers family of their Uncle's death. Unfortunately, another relative was favored for the large inheritance over them.
Technology and innovation have transformed the way people function personally and professionally. In the past, writing and mailing a letter was standard but now most people send electronic messages and text messages to phones. Healthcare has been changing tremendously as well, not only are paper charts and records becoming obsolete, but now many facilities are sharing test results, visit information details, and prescribed drug lists. This move into the digital age has helped improve healthcare by cutting costs in the long-term, increasing efficiency with decreased wait times, and reducing medical errors. This evolving technology expansion, commonly referred to as nursing informatics has created many opportunities for nursing professionals with information technology experience to move into this growing field.
Informatics has integrated itself into the nursing practice daily. Sensmeier (2010) states, “Nursing informatics is known today as the "specialty that integrates nursing science, computer science, and information science to manage and communicate data, information, knowledge, and wisdom in nursing practice." A main part of a nurse’s job is gathering data and turning it into information that all of the healthcare takers can use. For example, a nurse must take vital signs as part of their “data” and in turn put it into the computer system as information. This information is used to help care for the patient. Informatics impacts a nurse’s duties because of the technology utilized each day. The use of this technology developed transforms the nursing career because it improves patient safety, quality, and efficiency of care delivery (Sensmeier, 2010). Within the technology, nursing care is ultimately impro...
