The purpose of this project is to prevent deforestation by keeping the oil underground and preserve the Yasuni National Park, Ecuador can generate carbon credits without deforestation. With the Yasuní-ITT Initiative, Ecuador begins a path to economic transition towards sustainable development. I think Yasuni national park has a tremendous potential to benefit people living around the park, what we just need is stability to enable the projects from the development countries to move forward.
Through this initiative, Ecuador and its international allies demonstrate leadership by funding a project called to contribute to the sustainable management of the Amazon rainforest and prevent global warming. We can not exploit this natural paradise is

Discover the environmental importance is the aim of a study conducted by a group of researchers in the Yasuni research station. Since 1995 this group of researchers studies the vegetation of Yasuni and it is the central monitoring of aspects such as the appearance of new plant seeds in the forest project.
Another purpose of this initiative is the protection of the rights of indigenous peoples living in voluntary isolation in the Yasuní and intangible area. Yasuni ITT is home to many species of animals, and indigenous peoples that are in this biosphere are the only free beings and depend on this place for their survival, if this habitat is destroyed we also lose a part of our culture. Depends on all of us that this place is not megadiverse destroyed.
Unfortunately in 2013 the Ecuadorian government canceled the campaign because the international financial compensation was not achieved, as agreed previously that had the proposal and announced that 0.1% of the national park will be used for oil extraction, which is estimated to generate about 18,000 million

The atmosphere keeps the temperature of earth in certain extremes. It doesn’t get too hot and it doesn’t get too cold, and everything can work in cycles quite well within the temperatures. If we exploit the Yasuni national park the temperatures will increase by making the atmosphere absorb more of the heat than it receives.
We Ecuadorians is time that we wake up and we oppose any attempt to exploit nature. No matter how much money the oil give us, it does not compare with the wealth of the natural paradise that has Ecuador. One day when we no longer have oil, trees, or birds, future generations will come to pay the consequences of the lack of importance that we have today to preserve the environment.
This is important and we need to help generating nature and trying to conserver the environment. The Yasuni is a unique haven of biodiversity and we don't only seek to save the life of the Ecuadorian rainforest but we also seek to improve as a country looking for more ideas to conserver everyone's
This policy memo addresses the development and expansion of the cattle ranching industry in Brazil, which has contributed to the mass deforestation of the Brazilian Amazon in the last 40 years. It exposes the regional and global consequences to deforestation and provides strategies for the Brazilian government to sustainably manage cattle ranching industries while protecting the future of the Amazon. The rainforest ecosystem is an immense reserve of natural recourses that is far more valuable than the beef produced on Brazilian cattle ranches. Not only does the rainforest create habitat for up to 65% of the world’s biodiversity, but when harvested sustainably, it provides humans with an abundance of spices, foods, oils, medicines and vital research areas (NEWMAN).
...e trees, and using the wood to build their ships. By reserving the land, they are keeping the lumber from being taken by other people. Later on, it was renamed Luquillo forest reserve in 1903. Deforestation is a major issue in the El Yunque forest. It is very illegal, but people have found their way around those laws because there were only certain borders that they had to stay out of. So, they simply did just that and went around the borders. El Yunque’s mountains, vegetation, and organisms, make it a very unique beautiful place. The four different parts of the rainforest belong to different organisms. Hopefully, humans will stop destroying this land and let the animals be!
Since 2001, Hydro-Quebec were doing oil exploration on Anticosti Island.Seven years later, they had found nothing. In 2008, Petrolia, a private petroleum producer, sign an agreement with Hydro-Quebec to continue the oil exploration and about the money that Quebec will receive if they find oil. Petrolia discovered for $75 billion of petroleum and Quebec will receive a small amount of $2.3 billion. Petrolia has the right to extract oil everywhere on the island except in the two national parks. Should we take the risk to break a fragile and unique ecosystem in order to gain money on a short-term? To answer this ethical question, we will look at positive effects and negative effects of extracting oil from different regions that had decided to go into the oil industry. Those regions are closely related to our case and we will finish off with the possible solutions that are offers to Anticosti.
Governments in these countries need to stop thinking of forests as a renewable resource. The rate at which they are harvesting these areas drives them beyond the boundaries of sustainability. The efforts required by reforestation may not initially be cost effective, but it will result in not only the survivability of the environment, but of the country’s economy. Widespread awareness of these ideas will help fight against the natural human tendency towards instant gratification and short-term goals. Different methods of logging can be utilized to allow the rainforests to survive and regrow naturally and at a sustainable
This environmental problem of the Dominican Republic will deal with those challenges that are considered of highest importance for the Caribbean country, challenges that require immediate attention from the Dominican people in order to secure a future that is environmentally, socially just and economically a future here the island's population can continue to benefit from the many goods and services that natural resources have to offer. There for one of the most important focal points of biodiversity in the world is located in the Caribbean region, and in this region The Hispaniola Island is the most diverse of all the West Indies that are being the most focal point that other places. However, climate change has invasion of non-native aggressive species, the overexploitation of forest and marine resources and the pollution of water, air and soil, are threatening the planet's biodiversity, thereby endangering its long-term existence. That’s why it is so much of a big deal because there is a lot in consequence more than just environmental. To be able to face the increasing losses caused by humans. It is hoped that this agreement can promote the conservation of biodiversity, the sustainable use of its components and the fair and equitable distribution of benefits arising from such use in the Dominican
The Yasuni National Park possesses very diverse rainforest which significantly impact how the ecosystem functions; yet the the processes of disturbance and succession greatly affect them ("Yasuni National Park, Ecuador", "Ecuador Yasuni ITT Trust Fund" ). Just one hectare of the park contains more species of trees and bushes than all of North America ("Foreseeable Impacts of Oil Industry Activity in Yasuní")! There are a staggering 1762 species of trees and shrubs that have been identified in Yasuni, and approximately 400 of them are inherent to the region (“Foreseeable”). Hundreds of the plants in the previously untouchable zones have not even been classified or studied in depth (“Foreseeable”). The park is also paradise to a multitude of animal...
Thence, it will be made clear to you the proper procedures of stripping Mother Earth of her treasures. Also, should you wish to obtain a break from environmental exploitations, there are great places in cyberspace such as www.therainforestsite.com and www.tree4life.com/ingles/ingles.htm where you may effortlessly click your way to saving rainforests. However, I am confident that there will not be any objections to my modest proposal. There. I have too long digressed, and therefore shall return to my subject.
Ecuador is a western South American country. It is the 4th smallest country in South America (List of Sovereign). The country borders Columbia to the north, Peru to the south and east, and the Pacific Ocean to the west (Geography). For Ecuador’s area, about the size of Nevada (Geography and map), it has a lot of geographical features such as: Galapagos Islands, Andes, Cotopaxi, Amazon rainforest, Chimborazo, Guayas River, Pichincha Volcano, Tungurahua, Sangay, and Quilotoa (Geographical). With all of these interesting features Ecuador has a high rate of tourism. About 1,114,000 people were recorded in 2011.
During my service learning trip to Ecuador I was lucky enough to be able to learn about a completely different culture. Without an open mind, I would have never noticed all of the different and intriguing aspects of Ecuador’s culture. There was one portion of the trip that really stood out to me. On the first day we were able to visit the Yunguilla Community in the Cloudy Forest. This was only the start of learning about a culture utterly different from our own. In this community, an average of 50 families work together to preserve this area of the Cloudy Forest. Cheeses, jams, and handicrafts are all made on the land that the community owns. It was captivating to see these
The destruction of this forest releases 340 million tons of carbon per year according to the World Wildlife Foundation, or WWF, which in turn causes climate changes everywhere around the world. Undiscovered species can hold the key to curing a plethora of diseases, but if those species become extinct, those keys are lost forever. If nothing is done to prevent this, the world’s treasure trove of bio-diversity will cease to exist, creating irreversible damage to not only the South American people, but also the rest of the world. Conversion of the tropical forest into cropland and pasture began a long time ago in Ecuador, before its secession from Spain. Their major crop was cocoa, which was grown along the waterways to be exported as their main source of trade.

Agreements of this type have been instituted in Bolivia, Madagascar, Zambia, and other countries.” (K. Lerner and B. Lerner 1). That quote suggests that this potential solution will pay for countries’ debts and in return, the countries have to protect their forests. Since the article states that agreements of this kind have already been instituted, I think that this could work to help prevent deforestation and some of the consequences that
Tropical rainforests have many species of plants and animals. They are very interesting and many scientists today study it. Rainforests are an important part of our environment and it is important for us to protect it. That’s why we have to stop global warming.
The Amazon Rainforest is the world's largest tropical rainforest that we have today on our planet. It covers a wide range expanding almost entirely across from East to West of South America. It is most famous for its broad biodiversity and includes the famous Amazon River that is home to rare and diverse species. Today, the Amazon Rainforest is under threat of complete deforestation and has greatly lost more than half of its tropical rainforest due to cattle ranching, soy bean farming, sugar cane plantations, palm oil and biofuel agriculture. The indigenous people are doing their best to fight against the government to protect their land and conserve the rainforest but without capital finance, it is seeming to be an impossible project.
Today biodiversity is being depleted by the loss of habitat, fragmentation of habitat, over exploitation of resources, human sponsored ecosystems , climatic changes, shifting cultivation, poaching of wild life etc. Biodiversity includes various other important things and services such as cultural, recreational, and spiritual nourishment that play a major role in maintaining our personal life as well as social life and since the human beings are enjoying all the benefits from biodiversity, they should take proper care for the preservation of biodiversity in all its form and good health for the future generation. We should conserve biodiversity because of its benefit for example services and biological resources which are essential to live our life on earth and maintain it at its threshold level and derive sustainable benefits for the present and future generation. Appropriate conservation and sustainable development strategies attempt to recognize this as being integral to any approach for preservation of biodiversity. Ever since the Conservation of Biodiversity has gained tremendous importance worldwide, steps have been taken for its
