Wealth, and Character Defined by Society

People who are born into an already established wealthy family tend to be able to have

the resources and contacts available to them to get ahead in life earlier and much easier than a

person born into a poor or average income family. It is because of this that the wealthier person’s

character may already have been established from birth. As that person tends to be expected to

act in a manner befitting the standards of his parents and peers. A person born into poverty, for

example, must learn how to create his own wealth through hard work and perseverance.

Knowing nothing will be handed to him, he must work to build his character in a way in which

his peers will give him opportunities needed to grow and create his own sense of wealth.

In my opinion people today’s society believes that wealth and class define a person.

People let their lives often revolve around status. Who has the most money? Who has the best
