Truman Essay 2017 My Truman book was The Fixer. The Fixer is about a girl named Tess who is taken to live with her sister Ivy in Washington D.C. Ivy is a “fixer.” Ivy helps powerful people cover up scandals and conspiracies. Ivy sends Tess to the prestigious Hardwicke School, where Tess unknowingly begins to help solve her classmates problems. Around the same time, Chief Justice Theo Marquette suddenly dies of a “heart attack.” Tess’s best friend, Vivvie Bharani, suddenly begins to have trouble with her father, Major Bharani, after overhearing him helping plan a conspiracy. She says that her dad found out that she took the phone and beat her. A little while later, Tess learns that Major Bharani, Vivvie’s father, committed suicide. The three main characters of The Fixer are Tess Kendrick, Ivy Kendrick, and Vivvie Bharani. Tess is the main character, and the sister of Ivy Kendrick. Ivy Kendrick is Washington D.C’s number one “Fixer,” and is the sister of Tess Kendrick. Vivvie Bharani is Tess’s best friend and the daughter of the White House official Major Bharani. After Tess finds a few more clues, she learns that the person on the phone was Judge Pierce. She also learns that the plot doesn’t stop there, and Tess knows she has to expose it before it is too late. Two of the story's main conflicts are about who killed Theo Marquette and how to prevent Judge Pierce from getting the nomination. Finding out who killed Theo Marquette was crucial because the murderer could slaughter other government officials. Blocking Judge Pierce from getting the nomination as Chief Justice was critical because he was paying someone so he could secure the appointment, not being selected by his
