Over the years the “American Dream” has changed. The “American Dream” is defined as equal opportunity to achieve success and prosperity through hard work, determination, and initiative ( www.google.com ). Through time the “American Dream” been ratified every so often. In the 19th Century it was defined as traveling thousands of miles to create an economic opportunity for the family. Now in the 21st Century it is starting from the bottom and working their way to the top. It is proven immigrants struggle the most achieving the “American Dream” because of persecution, money, and education. How are immigrants supposed to create/invest in businesses if the government officials do not even trust the money given to them? Therefore making my exact point that immigrants struggle with the ”American Dream” due to money. It was opined that, “ decades-old federal law known as the immigration and Nationality Act, says that no taxpayer money can be used to assist...immigrants in fighting deportation”(Davis,” Gop warns D.C mayor not to use tax money to defend illegal immigrants”). A law from years ago states that taxpayers cannot use money to keep immigrants from being sent to original country.How are immigrants supposed to feel knowing that the country they are trying to achieve the “American Dream” in does not support them financially? This article clearly shows why money is part of the problem when trying to achieve the “American Dream”. As a result of what was stated , money is one of the key reasons the “American Dream” is unattainable.
