According to Michelle Phan, “Makeup is not a mask that covers up your beauty; it's a weapon that helps you express who you are from the inside.” There is a place that helps women, men, transgenders, and etc. to express who they are. At this place, beauty is created and bought. Beauty is never destroyed, but it is enhanced. People will spend all of their time and energy at this store. This is where girls make the transition to womanhood. This beautiful place is Sephora.

In the article, “The Fashion Industry: Free to Be an Individual” by Hanna Berry, Berry discusses how for decades women have been told to use certain products and that if they used those products they would be beautiful. Women over the years have believed this idea and would purchase items that promised to make them prettier, thinner, smarter and even more loved. Nordstrom retail stores have large hallways, and everything is presented in a very classy manner. The color scheme includes pale yellows, whites, and gold, to provide a more elegant appearance in the store in order to make the shopped feel special. The design is also seen through product organization. Compared to stores like Macy’s, which organize their products based on brand, Nordstrom organizes their products based on lifestyle. Because of this, it is easier for shoppers to find clothes similar to their style as opposed to by brand. In effect, shoppers will purchase more products. This also is a type of experiential retailing, where Nordstrom customers are able to experience the elements of their lifestyle within one section. More so, the product presentation will draw people’s eyes to products, even if they are not looking for it. This gives Nordstrom a competitive advantage in relation to other similar retail stores because it makes their store look more glamorous and high-end. While other stores may focus on value, Nordstrom utilizes the retail positioning strategy to make a customer feel more high-end and

I Daniella M. Genzale was caught shoplifting from Sephora in Roosevelt Field Mall. I put two items of makeup into my pocket book and walked out of the store passing all points of purchasing. When I left the store the security made us stop and ask us to give them what items were taken and don't pretend nothing was taken because he watched us. Then we walked back into the store with the security and they took us into the back room, once we were there he showed us the video of us taking the items and calculated how much was stolen all together. We were in the room for about an hour before the police officers came and hand cuffed us. At this point I was in tears crying, I was worried my mom was calling me and she was nervous. I still don't understand

Scent within the novel Perfume by Patrick Suskind has been regarded as a supernatural element that transcends the physical realm and into the spiritual. In 18th Century France, Jean-Baptiste Grenouille is born with the supernatural ability to smell, while lacking his own individual odour. The power of scent is revealed to have manipulative qualities that shape the way an individual perceives someone based off odour. Suskind uses the characters of Grenouille and Madame Gaillard to convey the effect that scent has on the emotional spirituality of humans as both have a disability with their olfactory sense. Grenouille utilises the power of scent to create his own perfume which emphasizes scent possessing qualities beyond the natural world.

The absence of clothing has become omnipresent in today’s advertising. Some ads focus on the removal of clothing, while others focus on no clothing at all. This idea is ever-present in fragrance advertising, as it forces the viewer to focus on the product over the appearance of one’s clothing. The absence of clothing creates a very specific mood for the ad: sex. The ad is able to portray a meaning that is not even included in the ad just by removing pieces of clothing. Fragrance advertising, such as Gucci Guilty, uses sex as a tool to sell a product without knowing anything about it.

However, do we know if the shampoo is cleaning our hair from beginning to end or is it damaging our hair? How often do you read the ingredients labeled on your personal care products and wonder if they are safe to use? More importantly, if you
