I am writing to ask for leniency in the sentencing of my co-work and friend Jane Doe. Please permit me to give you a perspective that will portray her as who she really is, as oppose to the influences that drove her into committing the acts that resulted in her arrest.
I initially met Ms. Doe in [starting month/year], at Alden Village North and have known her since. We've worked alongside each other on countless occasions. I’ve become very familiar with her personality and work ethic to recognize that she is an exemplary co-worker. She is very much prudent in conducting her work related activities.

She had a scheduled commencement date in the summer of this year. I’ve known her to be goal-oriented, committed to excellence both outside and within the workplace. If given the freedom, she can contribute immensely to society on a much grander scale as oppose to now.
She is rarely late for work, and constantly fulfill her work obligations in a timely manner. As a team player, she meshes well within our healthcare team. Being one of the many polite staff members at our health facility for children and disable adults, she is well known; particularly for her helpful nature. The patients love her.
I found Ms. Doe to be a devoted single mother, who’ve decided to take on challenging 16 hours shifts for three days out of every week. She does this just so she can spend more time with her three year old daughter. She is under stress due to the charges against her and I believe she is sorry for any misdeed.
Her transgression triggered in light of being swayed by her fellow peers should be considered. The real Jane Doe would never have committed such acts. It was a childish mistake, deserving of a second chance. This is her first offense that has so far tarnished a clean record. Please consider a lesser sentence in the case of this young woman.
