Against Year-Round Schooling: The Need for Summer Break

Imagine yourself going to school year round? Sitting in uncomfortable desks learning about dry subjects rather than enjoy summer outside and with family. It can be exhausting when you’re trying to focus on what is going on in the classroom when all you are thinking about is summer. In my opinion, school should not be year rounded because children want need time to be committed to other activities, give parents the opportunity to educate their children at home, and give parents a chance to discipline their child correctly.
Why are children committed to summer rather than school? Many children can’t wait until summer is here. Some may count down the days, and others might just wait until its time. When children are in school they learn, but are not fully concentrated if in school year round. For example; some children may want to try other sport activities. If the children are in school during the summer, then there will be no extra time to expand the child’s interest. Summer is a great time to correct the bad behavior their child has learned from being in school around their peers. For example; parents can work to fix the bad behavior the child has picked up to change into good behavior before influenced by others. The parents can teach them from right to wrong. This can help the child make good decisions and think before during when peer pressured at school. Also, children can be discipline through their own mistakes. For example; if one child wants to watch television right this moment and the parent tells the child not right now. The parents need to teach their child how to respond correctly and how one can be discipline if acting up. Summer is a great time to perfect the child to be better for the next school
