Odysseus is a criminal and not a hero. Odysseus is not a hero but more of a criminal. if Odysseus was alive today he would go to jail and probably get executed, and would be considered a psychopath, and why he would be treated like a criminal is because, in the odyssey it is stated that odysseus killed all of the suitors(around 100 people), which is illegal in almost all countries, what was also stated in the odyssey was that odysseus cheated on his wife which is not illegal but not accepted and frowned upon in today's society. Hanging defenseless maids is plain wrong. Hanging maids that can't protect themselves is unhonorable and not heroic. Killing the suitors was more acceptable because they had weapons while the maids did not. And in the first place the maids were not against odysseus but where for themselves, the things they did were not to harm odysseus but for their own benefits, like becoming the queens of Ethica. And if you didnt notice odysseus just killed even more people for minor reasons. If you're maid does not support you, you do not have the right to publicly hang them. Another reason why odysseus might have killed the maids could have been because they disrespected his house by having relationships with the suitors, but even then that's not enough cause to kill someone.

In conclusion odysseus would not be a modern times hero. He disrespected his relationship with his wife. He murdered over a hundred people, and after that hanged some defenseless maids publicly. The reason why he isnt a hero today is because, murder is illegal, cheating on your spouse is frowned upon, and hanging maids publicly is illegal and not socially
