Obesity is a disorder dealing with excessive body fat that increases the chance of health problems. Doctors use body mass index or (BMI) to determine if a person is Obese. This involves taking a person’s weight and dividing it by the square of their height. They are considers Obese if their body mass index is greater than thirty. America is the leading country dealing with this disorder having three million cases per year. One of the main factors being that other countries eat healthier than most Americans. In today’s economy it’s cheaper and faster to stop by McDonalds on the way home from work. Most of the Asian countries tend to have low Obesity numbers due to their daily diets.
It has been proven that obesity is connected to more than sixty chronic health diseases. In the United States alone two-thirds of the adult population having type two diabetes are overweight or have obesity. Cancer is another very deadly disease that obesity aids in its fight to take a human life. Studies show that being obese doubles a person’s chance of getting cancer. The American …show more content…
