These incredible animals have long necks, long banana shaped ears,and spit. What is this amazing and nice creature? The llama of course! WAIT! LLAMAS? THEY SPIT! HOW CAN THEY BE NICE? Though some llamas are a little more nervous or aggressive and spit more often, if baby llamas are taken care of properly they can grow up to be good adult llamas. The ways people can help a baby llama grow up to be good, and healthy adult llama is to not handle them when they are born, have a nice,warm,safe,and calm habitat ready for it's mom and for its self, and to watch for any health issues.

When a baby llama is born, it is ready get going. Within 90 minutes the baby llama ready to stand, walk, and nurse. Before and when the baby llama gets to that point it is a good idea not to make the mother llama upset. The mother llama will spit, and kick to defend her baby. Why do they spit? What’s up with that? Llamas spit if they are provoked, protecting themselves or others (like baby llamas), and they spit at each other to show the other llama what the ranking is. Even though the mother and baby llama looks safe out in the open, it is best to get a nice, clean and warm place ready for them. The best habitat for the mother and baby should be in would be a place away from the other llamas. Keep the father away from the mother and the baby cause because the father llama is now known as a huge threat. The next way to make a habitat for the llama mama and the baby llama , which is actually called a cria, is to put bedding on the bottom of the inside habitat. The best bedding would have to be straw. What causes it? What are the side affects? Can it be fixed? Berserk llama syndrome is a terrible mental illness for overly handled baby llamas. It starts by the owner touching,hugging, and or or by bottle feeding the baby llama when the baby llama is under 6 months. Later, the baby llama grows up thinking that the owner is it's mother and that people are other llamas. Though it can cause more damage to the male llamas than the female llamas it does not mean that it is okay to go ahead pet the female llamas. It is a bad idea to pet either of them when they are babies. The syndrome's effects are easier to see in the males. Some of the effects are, headbutting, continuous spitting, constant kicking, not very appropriate actions, and some times biting, and not just soft bites, BIG, MEAN, AND PAINFUL bites.
