There are many arguments about the existence of a timeless maximally perfect being. The basis of the argument is whether God is timeless because timelessness seems to limit his abilities and limit his omnipotence and omniscience. Omniscience is God’s ability to be an all knowing being and omnipotence is God’s all power. A maximally perfect being (God) is defined by these characteristics in most major religions. Personally, the problem of timelessness is solved in the understanding that there might be an ultimate being and this ultimate being is more than likely timeless because He chooses to. He can do anything and everything, but he chooses to live a life outside of time. However, he has people who are in time (angels) that will do in time what he wants them to do. …show more content…
God does not need action to have happened. No thing, in time, occurred for there to be a God. God has always existed. God does not need anything else to cause him to exist therefore, there is nothing before God and there is only human’s understanding after God. Humans existence is solely out of necessity. People only exist through God’s existence and him starting the Big Bang, along with the millions of actions that occurred for people to exist. God and his entire being does not need a necessity of another thing for him to have existed. He is the only being that has these characteristics (that people know of) and because he has those characteristics he is an ultimate being that is not within the confines of time. This argument is coherent and sits well with many people. The fact that a God, who created everything in time, exists out of time works for most

have an idea of a perfect being then it must exist. A cause, he argues
If God did not exist, he would not be the greatest being imaginable. He is the greatest thing imaginable. Therefore, he does exist. From this argument, God’s existence is viewed. as necessary (Ayer. A. J. 1973).
exists and his idea of what a perfect being is, such as God, then God exists.
If nothing greater than God can be conceived in anyone’s understanding, God is said to be humanly perfect. Since to be perfect, in part, is to exist; something that does not exist cannot be perf...
In the article by P. T. Greach, Omnipotence, we are faced with the issue of whether God, by the Christian understanding of him, is omnipotent, or almighty, by the true definitions of the word and the English understandings of them. He proves the statement that God is omnipotent, meaning that he can do anything at all, is false. HE proves this statement by using many examples from both the importance of the stability of the Christian belief, and by making statements that are contradictory to the entire view of the concept of God. Being that God's promise to the race of man is deliverance from this Earth to eternal life in Heaven, and that there is an afterlife for man. By this statement of the perfection, being the lack if imperfections, or rather the omnipotence being the lack of impotence is false because God can not break his promise, and he can not lie, or the entire religion of Christianity falls out beneath them. Being another example is that God can not create something that he can not destroy, because the idea of something that God can not destroy is in conflict with the idea that "anything God can make, it's maker can destroy." Because by very definition that something that God created is indestructible. My favorite points that he makes is that God as God cannot have a body or be a man, become tired, oblivious, angry, sorrowful, become violence or be overcome, or be corrupted. God the Son has done these things, but this discussion is about God as God, not God as Man.
The idea of God is something that would not just come natural. It is not living ordinarily and just thinking of God. The idea of God as a whole must be created by God. If humans are finite, and God is infinite, how could one possible have the thought of such an infinite being.
A wonderful description of the nature of God’s existence that includes the absolute possession of characteristics that have to be uniquely God was said, “First, God must exist necessarily, which means that God’s existence differs from ours by not being dependent on anything or anyone else, or such as to be taken from him or lost in any way. God has always existed, will always exist and could not do otherwise than to exist. Also, whatever attributes God possesses, he possesses necessarily” (Wood, J., 2010, p. 191).
This question is inherently disproportionate with respect to passage in question. God is an eternal being, which would imply that he was never created, nor ceases to exist. For instance, if I were to build a bicycle, I am the one who built it and am therefore its cause. An atheist might then respond by saying, what if you were inspired by an external force, which led to the bicycles creation, wouldn 't the inspiration be the cause? No, most certainly not, for you are affirming that for every cause there must be a cause. For instance, if I give an explanation, then based on your logic, it would therefore require an explanation of the explanation. This demonstrably fallacious contention is the death of its own cause, for it would require an infinite regress of explanations, which would inevitably led to a world in which nothing could be explained. The perplexed atheist might then say, why do you believe that the universe was created by God, for modern science suggests that the universe came from nothing? I believe that your definition of "nothing" is nothing but a misconception, for the literality of "nothing" in quantum mechanics isn 't actually nothing, but rather the fluctuations and transitions between something and nothing in which potential existence can be transformed into real existence by the addition of energy
Religion is the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods, a particular system of faith and worship or a pursuit or interest followed with great devotion (Oxford Dictionary, 2014). From religion, many new groups, communities and further derived religions have formed. Closely related to religion and with endless controversies surrounding it’s classification as a religion is the concept of Atheism- which is defined as the disbelief or rejection of a deity. Descending from this is a social and political movement in favour of secularism known as New Atheism. Understanding the historical content concerning the emergence of atheism, this essay will then address how various aspects within the field inclusive the goals, structures and approaches have emerged and developed over time in comparison to the original atheist ideals.
The idea of ‘Eternalism’ stems from the concept that the past, present and future are all equally real in comparison with one another. It can be seen to be the case the things from the past or the present can be seen to exist just as must as in the present. For example, the 12th February 2014 is equally as real as the 12th March 2014; they’re just in different parts of the timeline of time. Although some things are not in the same time period as us right now, such as a dinosaur, does not mean that they did not exist at all, and certainly “does not mean that they shouldn’t be on the list of all existing...
The concept of God can be a difficult one to grasp especially in today's world - a world in which anyone that believes in God is trying to define exactly what God is. To even attempt to grasp such a concept, one must first recognize his own beliefs in respect to the following questions: Is God our creator? Is God omnipotent (all-powerful) or omniscient (all-knowing) or both? Does God care? Is God with us? Does God interfere with life on earth? These questions should be asked and carefully answered if one should truly wish to identify his specific beliefs in God's existence and persistence.
Jesus Christ was the light that came to earth to brighten the lives of the people. He taught phenomenal and meaningful lessons that changed many hearts and caused people to accept Jesus as their Lord. Jesus Christ is the life of Christianity; the Word of God in flesh. His life, his ministry, and his crucifixion where prophesied long before he was born and Christians believe that they were all fulfilled. He had so much love for human kind that he came to earth to die for the sins of the people, so that their souls would be able to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. The Bible testifies that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who taught memorable life lessons and performed astonishing miracles during his ministry.
The classical periods of many of the great world civilizations were the golden ages of those civilizations. However, just because a civilization’s classical age has passed does not mean that the ideas, institutions, and art have passed as well. On the contrary, the effect from the classical periods of many great civilizations is still with the present civilization. The ideas, institutions, and art that has endured from these civilizations is no accident; the ideas, institutions, and art have had an influence on civilizations up to and including the present day.
“Just as a candle cannot burn without fire, men cannot live without a spiritual life.” According to Buddha, everyone needs some form of spirituality to define his or her life and existence. Webster Dictionary defines spiritualism as “a system of beliefs or religious practices based on supposed communication with the spirits of the dead, often times through mediums.” Though this is one general definition of spiritualism, this concept is one that does not hold a conclusive meaning. Each and every single person has the ability and right to create and practice their own idea of spiritualism. From ancient times to present day, the term and practice of spirituality has transformed, particularly from region to region. Despite the discrepancies in practices and overall understanding of this idea, spirituality has had an effect and impact upon all of humanity since the creation of time. This religion that is believed to have been established in the early eighteen hundreds, after two little girls claimed to have the ability to talk to spirits, sparked interest in this spiritual movement, allowing it to spread rather rapidly over many geographical locations. Aside from being recognized as a religion, spiritualism is also believed to be a form of philosophy and a science in which spiritualists believe that there is life after death and try to demonstrate this through the ability of attempting to communicate with those that have passed on. Spiritualism was socially different from other religions in existence at the time because it presented followers with a more tolerant belief system that assimilated the principles and facts from a selection the world's religions. Spiritualism also made it acceptable for women to play a disti...
