Personal financial advisors do exactly what their title says; give financial advice to people that may not be as educated in the area of finances. Financial advisors, also known as financial planners, provide assistance in every aspect of the client’s financial plan. They may help with taxes, insurance, and investment plans. The advisors are there to provide a personalized plan that suits the client’s life style and personality. They do the complicated math to ensure the client has enough money for retirement and other aspects of the client’s life. Planning a financial plan for the rest of some one’s life has become more complicated as the world is advancing in every aspect, beginning in the 1960s. The possible existence of financial planners began in 1969 when Loren Dunton set up the Society for Financial Counseling Ethics. Financial planners became needed when soldiers returned home from World War II. The planners were there to help Americans plan for their future. The first graduating class coming from the College of Financial Planning was in 1973. It is ironic that the same ye...
There are extensive studies on retirement covering education in general. The findings suggest that education is an important factor in affecting retirement planning preparedness (Hogarth, 1985; Joo&Pauwels, 2002). Education enables individuals to explore more information relating to their retirement planning and that sources of information will influence their decisions, attitude and intention to do retirement planning (Hogarth, 1985; Joo&Pauwels, 2002). Also, DeVaney (1995) addressed that the effect of education level may serve as a motivator or guidance for individuals to start the preparation for retirement planning. With the increase in age and educational level, individual tends to be more motivated to work on retirement planning preparation or take some action for their retirement (DeVaney, 1995).
A portion of the students were placed in the class and a portion of students were not given any formal classroom financial literacy training. All students participated in the Junior Achievement Finance Park simulation in which they were placed in real-life situations and had to make financial decisions. Their decisions affected their personal income and lifestyle within the simulation. The educated group “showed profoundly greater understanding of the financial issues they faced. Their completion rates were higher, they saved more, and they spent less on immediate gratification items such as clothing. These items were consistent with the lessons offered in the curriculum they received” (Carlin & Robinson, 2012). Also, the classroom students were more likely to use available resources, known as decision supports, to help them better understand their potential decisions. An example of a decision support includes additional information provided by a business to further explain their product or its features (i.e. explaining premium options on a health insurance plan). The study believes that “timely decision support and financial literacy training are complements, not substitutes” (Carlin & Robinson,
Since the word “literacy” is usually used to describe the measure of one’s ability to read, write, and speak a specific language, financial literacy can, thus, refer to:
Various researches can determine possible reasons as to why consumers have quite a lot of trouble making financial decisions that can be the most beneficial later in life. In the context of savings for retirement, conclusions from a test reveal that self-regulatory state, possible future orientation and more and better financial knowledge can and most likely will influence a consumers intentions for retirement investments, for example, setting up a 401K in the USA. Other studies suggest consumers who show higher amounts of future orientation are usually more likely to start up a retirement plan. Studies also show that financial knowledge and financial orientation toward ones future can help to influence the chances of one participating in a 401K plan.
My God there are so many careers out there, who in the world can pick just one. That’s what’s been weighing on my mind heavily is what career is right for me. I’ve thought of a couple that interest me but I want to find out everything there is to know about a financial advisor. The reason that I’m interested in this field is how everything is the same when it comes to the actually math behind the career. Also I like to deal with people and money so a job as a financial advisor just seems right for me but I intend to find out as much as I can to make sure there’s nothing surprising or any kinks in what sounds like the perfect job for me.
My thoughts on this career have definitely changed after doing research into this career. I only kind of wanted to do this job but, when I was done doing the research I really wanted to go into this career field it is bizarre or fantastic. Now that I have information from researching, I am going to be putting guidelines together for success. The next steps are for me to start taking classes in high school that will go with this career. Then, after high school, I will go straight into college to study for my major in finance, but, for now, I am embryonic or undeveloped.
The performance measurement should be built around quality and quantity. I recommend to record production statistics such as number of products and number of defects for each individual or team. The performance of each team should be evaluated by the management. The team which produces the highest quality and quantity will be awarded to encourage a quality focused culture. The team who demonstrates the most significant improvement based on the metrics will also be recognized.
High school seniors takes deep breaths and parade onto the stage. The beginning of a new chapter awaits as they make the journey from one point of the stage to the end. They reflect on what they have been taught in those many years of high school. The most terrifying fact while graduating high school is the next step: making it on their own. Because they have taken part in the appropriate classes, the students are certain that they have gained the correct knowledge to begin making their mark on the world. In high school, it is crucial to achieve the appropriate classes in order to feel ready to take on the world ahead as an adult. However, many students lack proper education. One key example is financial literacy. Financial literacy is the
Finance is a field that had always fascinated me right from my undergraduate college days. What make me interested in this particular field of study are the art of finance and the complexity of investment market which would allow me to employ my personal skills, such as analytical and communication skills, along with my personal characteristics such as dedication and compassion for what I do. As one of the most important sector in the world, I believe it would provide me with a broad range of career options.
The cost of changes is divided into several groups, which include various elements associated with the stages of investment in the project.
A personal financial plan is essentially important for any person and their loved ones to minimize future hardships and difficult financial situations. Short and long-term financial freedom and stability is something an individual wants to have through to the end of his or her life. Financially planning for one’s retirement years is vital so a person does not sustain major unhappiness or unnecessary pain in what is supposed to be the reward for working so hard in their younger years.

The future is always uncertain. However, having a financial plan for the future can save a person a lot of grief. More importantly, it can help tremendously for that young adult who is fresh out of college, and at the beginning stages of life; for the young adult who is preparing to attain his or her Doctorate, and will be living, most likely, completely on his or her own.
Personal Finance is a class I’ve wanted to take for a while now. My major is Finance not because I want a career in finance but more to learn about finance for my own personal situation. This class taught me so much! During this class I was able to evaluate my financial situation and set financial goals for myself. The four topics that helped me the most were emergency savings, buying a car, purchasing a home, retirement, and estate planning. After completing this class I have a better understanding of these topics and how to achieve my financial goals.
