They want to experience those emotions we get when we do the things we love. But just like the rest of the world, they go through hard times. As a matter of fact, if you look up pictures or videos of people who practice Decora you can see that most of the time they’re happy and content. Sadly, due to our society’s stereotypes and certain definitions of beauty, they get judged and discriminated most of the time, which causes them to feel ashamed and insecure about themselves. Rather than damaging Japan’s image, it’s showing the rest of the world how they’re supposed to “act”. Decora respects the laws and traditions Japan has. For example when it comes to the strict policy Japan has with uniforms; those who actually do Decora do it when school time over. You don’t see them in the streets demonstrating illegal behavior or killing citizens. Not to mention, when do you see the Decora community protesting against Japan’s rules? Decora does not consist of manipulating people into doing something they do not want. Instead, it promotes self-love and freedom of expression.
