A network computer or data network is a telecommunications network that allows computers to exchange data. In computer networks, networked computing devices transmit data to each other using data connections. These connections are established with nodes using either cable or through wireless media. The most famous and interesting computer network is the internet network. There are many types of computer networks, local area networks (LANs) to wide area networks (WAN) campus area networks ( containers ) metropolitan area network MAN ) and home area networks (HANs). With massive uprising in pc’s in the early eighties, the LAN system expanded rapidly. The LAN system on a workstation can be functioned via a short networking cable. LANs consist of computer units linked to a control computer called server. Network technology is the way by which the numerous stations are linked with one another. LAN can be linked to greater networks including mainframe. This provides LAN users with the access to enormous computing power and excellent communication facilities. Computerization in the banking system is the best example of the network LAN. When you link the computer system to insure a larger distance or extensive geographical area, such as intercity or countries for the exchange of information, the formation is called Wide Area Network (WAN). This is mostly additions of LAN connections through telephone and satellite links. A Router and software required to create the link. Computer networking is armed with communication amongst computer systems or devices. A computer network is any computer set or devices that are linked together with the capability to interchange data. It is sometimes considered a sub - discipline of telecommunications, co... ... middle of paper ... ...joyed virtually free access to the Internet. Even worse, the stability of such networks is concerned; the sheer volume of data flowing through the Internet may prove too much for them. To make things even worse, there is no guarantee that these networks will be connected. Probably, but is not obligated to do so. In one fell swoop, the government leaders probably destroyed the most established free forum network. Computer networks , assuming a free public it exists in the future ( if nothing happens in Internet), may not be the be-all and end - all this hype of the media may suggest , but it is certainly revolutionary tools that will to change the way we access information and perceive the world around us . Commercial interests will be overwhelming, as we are bombarded by information. But useful , interest will still be accessible - the problem you need to identify .
With an entity as vast as the Internet, it is not surprising that a variety of unanswered questions will arise. I’m positive that the Internet will continue to confound scholars as it continues to quickly evolve. By analyzing the views of the celebrants and skeptics, I have been able to understand the potential that the internet has. By using the PEC, I have been able to understand how democracy and capitalism relate to the issues of the Internet. In the future, I hope that society can develop a further understanding of the Internet and move toward the Internet that the celebrants had hoped for.
Many believe the internet was an over night sensation, that one day, someone invented the internet and it spread in popularity faster than Tickle Me Elmo or the Macarena. Although the internet did have a surge of commercial popularity, with the invention of Mosaic and later with e-commerce, it was created many years ago with the development of military networking technologies. Also, the internet, unlike many pop culture fads of the nineties, will continue to see a growth in popularity and usefulness as a form of media throughout the information age. Sure, the internet became overambitious to the point where many internet start-up companies lost their businesses in the recession of the past few years. The quality of the internet, however, has increased as companies realize that there exists competition and smarter consumers that demand superiority. The internet has taken the world so far in its short commercial life; the future of the internet provides limitless possibilities of a much different future.
"In the modern and technologically advanced times that we live in, access to the internet is a human right and necessity to the developed world. It often helps to promote sociopolitical awareness and understand the rights that we deserve as human beings.
On the other hand, a computer network is a telecommunication network of computers that enables the networked computers to exchange data between each other. However, the Acceptable Use Policy of the computer systems and network still apply here. All the computer users are assigned a specific user ID as well as a specific password that enables them to access only the information that is allowed within their authority.
Meanwhile, the advent of early PC’s and the recognition of the value in networking devices together gave rise to Local Area Networks. These LAN’s were developed from a business customer perspective, which placed more emphasis on costs and ease of use over reliability. There were a number of different competing LAN technologies, two of the most common being Token Ring (IBM) and Ethernet (everyone else). The triumph of Ethernet in the marketplace, to the extent where it is included in every PC, game console and some refrigerators, provides a consistent and relatively inexpensive way to build internal networks with relative ease.
This paper describes the basic threats to the network security and the basic issues of interest for designing a secure network. it describes the important aspects of network security. A secure network is one which is free of unauthorized entries and hackers
The purpose of this paper is to explore the impact that the Internet has on the adult sex industry. After careful observations at an adult retail store, it was quickly notices that not very many people attend local shops. The rapidly increasing market of sexually explicit material on the internet challenges social science to study the range of experiences that are involved with such content (Fisher & Barak, 2001). Additionally, because there is more of a normalization surrounding pornography there seems to be a wider range of individuals who are using pornography. The anonymity of the internet has displayed a steadily increasing percentage of individuals who consume pornography on a regular basis (Wright, Bae, & Funk, 2012). So much so that Wright, Bae, & Funk (2012) suggested that “women who are younger, less religious, and non-white were more likely to consume pornography”.
Cyber Security as an International Security Threat National and International Security is a sum of the actions taken by countries and other organizations that can guarantee the safety and well being of their population. It is vital for a nation to pre-emptively discover what issues could affect their security, and take action to prevent any detrimental or harmful events from happening. With the development of technology and the transition into a more technologically savvy society, cyber security has become one of the most prevalent and important economic and national security issues that the United States will come to face. United States President Barack Obama has identified cyber security as a key issue the nation will face. President Obama declared that the “cyber threat is one of the most serious economic and national security challenges we face as a nation” and that “America's economic prosperity in the 21st century will depend on cyber security (“Foreign Policy Cyber Security,” 2013).”
Cyber security is the protection of networks, computers, programs and data from attack, damage or unauthorized access. This is important because a great number of our confidential information is on computers and transmit that data across networks to other computers. As of now cyber-attack is one of the transnational issues that we are concern about in the United States. If these private networks were hack our national security infrastructure will be in distress.
Local Area Networks also called LANs have been a major player in industrialization of computers. In the past 20 or so years the worlds industry has be invaded with new computer technology. It has made such an impact on the way we do business that it has become essential with an ever-growing need for improvement. LANs give an employer the ability to share information between computers with a simple relatively inexpensive system of network cards and software. It also lets the user or users share hardware such as Printers and scanners. The speed of access between the computers is lighting fast because the data has a short distance to cover. In most cases a LAN only occupies one or a group of buildings located next to each other. For larger area need there are several other types of networks such as the Internet.
Page 2:The Internet is a boundless system used for the individual to enhance, and occasionally consume their internal programming of a daily schedule, their life. It has not only transformed how humans interact and communicate with one another, but has offered a new form of government involvement.
Wireless technology has widely spread lately and you can get connected almost anywhere at home, at work, in libraries, schools, airports, and hotels and even in some restaurants. It can be use anywhere is because there is a wireless network access point. These access point has a range about 20 meters indoor and even a greater range on outdoors. The coverage can comprise an area as small as single room with walls that block radio waves or as large as many square miles achieved by using multiple overlapping access points. But in public Wi-Fi hotspots normally require a paid subscription...
On joining the college, I concentrated on acquiring knowledge not only through the classroom teaching materials, but also through the volumes of Computer related materials. In the process I have acquired in-depth knowledge in the fields of Database Management Systems, Data Mining and Data Warehousing, Software Engineering especially in the concepts related to process organization and responsibilities. I was also fascinated by the growth of Networking and Communication Technology and developed keen interest in the subjects such as Computer Networks, Data Communications and Network Protocols. The Operating systems lab and Computer Networks lab unleashed a relentless desire in me to excel at its usage and find innovative applications.
In this modern times a revolution is taking place. Quietly this revolution has started and grown that it involved the world. A revolution is a sudden change in the way people live (Merriam-Webster). The birth of computer networking started during the early 1970's and began to flourish during the late 1970's. Various manufacturers in the computer industry launched small minicomputers with enough computational power to cater the needs of several users. Because of the cheap prices of such computers, every department in sizable organizations can afford one. In order to interconnect minicomputers and allow swift transfer of information among them, a number of organizations started to install Local Area Networks. Because LAN Technology is both cheap and easy to install, an individual department can buy, install and operate a LAN for their minicomputers without seeking the help of the administration (Comer, 2007)
Introduction: This is a 21th century, technology is the most important and improved thing of the human life. It makes life easier and faster. Development of faster sophisticated technology we have better and fast life. So all we are connect each other by computer network. There are two different way of network: Wired and wireless. Now day we can found network almost everywhere. Home, business, public place, Airport, Planes, hospitals, school, train everywhere we can found networking. Therefore, almost every sector of the economy that has affected by wired and wireless technology. Wired network and wireless protect both has security, But in general wireless network is less secure than wired networks. For proper security AP (access point) and its antenna should be right position. Also add a wireless access point or use a wireless router we can connect to network wirelessly. AS we using more and more of devices (smart phones, tablet and computers) rely on wireless networking, we have to improve our network security too.
